Chapter 3

NATHAN’S POV She stood at the door staring at me with the most beautiful pair of brown eyes I have ever seen. Her eyes matched her disheveled, wavy brown hair that flowed freely down her back. Just staring at her now brought back memories of our night together. I desperately needed to get away from my parents last night. My father had successfully found a woman in the same social class as us, to make my mate. My beta, Luca, had insisted we come to this hotel for a good time and reluctantly I agreed to it. I had called it a night earlier than he did, because honestly I am not one to party and stay out late at night. Luca said he would send a girl to my room to help me relax and I instantly turned him down. But when my door fell open and my mate stumbled in, I was instantly enraged and was about to tell her to leave. But she took off her clothes, revealing the most beautiful body I have ever seen, the words got stuck in my throat. It was when she climbed into the bed and climbed into my arms that I got a whiff of her scent. My wolf immediately reacted to her, that was when I knew she was my mate. I lost control and made my mine, and even though she was completely wasted, she wanted me just as much as I wanted her. Waking up with her cuddles up in my arms filled me so much peace and warm that I wanted the moment to last longer. But I got a call from my beta and it was time to leave. “Are you feeling alright?” I asked when her stare lingered. As though snapping out of a trance, she blinked slowly and turned away. “Yea. Yes. Why wouldn’t I be?” She started picking up the content of her purse that was scattered on the floor. She climbed into her shoes as she sling her bag over her shoulder. “Are you leaving already?” “Yes. This was a mistake,” she replied with her eyes glued to the ground. Those three words felt like a squeeze in my heart. “What do you mean by that?” Her face flushed a bright shade of red. “For starters, I was wasted last night. I would never have s*x with you clear headed. And secondly…” she trailed off as she bit her lower lip. “I’m gonna go now,” she said walked past me. Furious, I grabbed her by the arm and yanked her back. “Secondly what?” “I was supposed to sleep with someone else okay? I needed the money,” she blurted. Rage flooded my veins at the thought of someone else touching her and kissing her the way I did. “Who is he?” I asked through clenched teeth. She bit her lower lip, a simple act that threatened to undo whatever was left of my self control. “I don’t know his name. I was supposed to meet him in room 316, but I ended here in room 360,” she said and then muttered inaudibly. I locked the door so she would not be able to leave, then I grabbed my phone from the dresser and dialed Luca. His groggy voice came on after the second ring. “Hey man, it is only 7 in the morning. Some us are still hung…” “I need you to go to room 316 and pick the scumbag there,” I interrupted. “Now?” “Yes. Now, Luca.” “f**k. Ok.” I disconnected the call. “What are you going to do?” she asked visibly scared. “I will kill him for looking your way. I want the names of every other man that has touched you, I do not care if it is five years ago, I will end them.” “What? No! I have had it with aggressive and possessive men,” she grunted with disgust in her tone. I wasn’t one to care about how people see me, but the way she looked at me with distaste made my heart ache. “Just forget it. Open the door I want to leave.” “Why? Have anymore clients you need to satisfy?” I blurted even before I had the chance to think my words through. She shook her head as the disgust in her eyes grew. “You don’t know s**t about me or what I’ve been through. And honestly, I don’t even care about what you think of me. But don’t you dare talk to me like that!” “What? You had a tough life? You’re an orphan? Everyone has a sob story. But it does not justify selling your body!” She snorted a laugh. “You are one to judge. You took advantage of a drunk girl last night. What is your excuse?” Her words felt like ice in my veins. She was right, as much as I didn’t want her to be. “I am sorry.” “It doesn’t make any difference now.” I clenched my teeth. “I don’t want you to continue selling your body. I don’t want any other man touching you.” She rolled her eyes. “It was just a one time thing okay. This was supposed to be the first time. I need to pay my rent and my mum’s dying and if I don’t pay up, she will be removed from her home!” I marched to the dresser, retrieved my cheque book and filled in the necessary details. When I handed it to her she immediately rejected it. “That is more than the amount I would have made sleeping with the other guy,” she squealed with her eyes widened in surprise. “They could not have been that great,” she added. Unable to withstand her intoxicating scent, I pulled her in and kissed her, until we were both out of breath. “The s*x was amazing. It is taking every ounce of self control in me, for me not to rip up your clothes and make love to you again. And I am not paying you for the s*x. I want to make your life easy.” She swallowed before folding the cheque and stuffing it into her purse. “I’ve got to go. I need to see my mother.” “Let me take you,” I offered. “No. You have done more than enough.” Reluctantly I opened the door and walked her to the elevator. “I want to see you again,” I gave her my card. She glanced briefly at it before stuffing it into her purse. “I will give you a call as soon as I’m settled.” The elevator opened and she stepped in. Then it occurred to me. I don’t even know her name. “I didn’t get your name.” “Nicole.” The elevator door slid shut. I returned to my room and immediately filled in my father's number. “Hey there son. About last night ….” “I am going to call off my engagement to Alexandria.” “What? Why?” “Because I just found my mate.”
