Nicole’s POV.
My heart leaped as Alisha took a dive in my direction. At the very last second, I scampered out of the way and landed on my knees. The rocky ground tore my jeans, scrapping my knees in the process.
But I did not stop crying as much as I really wanted to. I raced towards my daughter hoping I would get to her before Alisha….
But I wasn’t fast enough. Alisha’s huge paws landed a severe blow to my side. I crashed to the floor. That was certainly going to leave a mark. My mouth was immediately filled with a metallic taste. I spat and, as expected, my saliva was red with blood. I tried to stand on my feet, but pain immediately shot through me and I fell back on my knees. The pain in my side made it difficult for me to breathe.
