His scent had enveloped me as I was wrapped in his warm jacket. It had almost been overwhelming, so I had quickly returned it, even though I felt cold without it.
My heart raced as I walked back inside, and soon I heard the door open and close again, knowing he had followed me. I felt his presence right behind me, almost as if I were being stalked. It annoyed me that he wouldn’t just listen and leave me alone. I stopped, turned around, and glared at him.
“Why won’t you just leave me alone?” I demanded.
“Why would I? You’re my mate,” he said, stepping closer.
His broad body made me turn slightly and take a few steps back until my back hit the wall. He closed the distance, knowing I had nowhere to run, and leaned in so close I could feel his hot breath on my skin.
