Chapter 6We parked at the diner because even though I didn’t have a car, I was always guaranteed a spot there. This way Xavier’s car would be protected and we didn’t have to waste time driving around, trying to find street parking or room in one of the few public lots. Even though it was almost nine at night, there was still just a hint of daylight left. Not that the imminent sunset kept tourists from being out and about. There wasn’t an event in the town square this evening, but the shops along Main Street were open late and several dozen people wandered in and out. It would be like that until things closed for the night, and even then, tourists still liked to meander.
