"Woah.. You are the man of your word. You made her indebted to you. I think she won't ignore you, now." Chen handed the files to him. But he saw Archie's eyes were stuck at the window.
Archie urgently called Chen to make an audit for the hospital, but in reality, he wanted some more time in the hospital. The audit was just a reason.
Archie was watching her through the one-side view glass from his cabin where he could see her but she couldn't. She stood outside of the chemotherapy session room.
He successfully made her guilty about what she did with him that night. She must have regretted slapping him last evening. Her eyes were desperate. Her lips were trembling, which made him recall the kiss again.
"Archie.. Where are you lost?" Chen asked him. Archie grabbed those files and slammed them on the table. He aggressively signed on them all.
"Trying to guess her all weakness." He took a deep breath. "If you want to lure someone, just try to know their weakness. people are crazy, they cry in front of others thinking others might get them some sympathy. But in reality, they are just giving others a reason against themselves." Archie closed the file.
"And her weakness is?" Chen asked.
"Her weakness is right there, lying on the bed there." He gestured at the session room. It seemed he was not interested in saving Jack.
"You are a real con. You can benefit even from the dead body." Chen said sarcastically and it made Archie squint.
"I don't need your compliment? You can leave now." Archie said and Chen picked up his files and started leaving. He paused for a moment and turned again.
"One more thing... Make sure you won't fall for her." Chen taunted him. That irritated Archie and his hands gripped at the corner of the table.
"That will never happen," Archie said, gritting his teeth. "Falling for her is not a part of my plan and it will never be." He added. His face turned aggressive as if Chen was unfolding his emotions.
"Yeah. But be quick with your plan, Ryan called me last evening and asked about the will. I can't avoid it for long." He left, and Archie rubbed his forehead.
Celeste fried some fish and packed it in tiffin. It was Jack's favourite thing to eat. He cried a lot after today's session. It was painful and irritable. He even refuses to eat anything.
She brought it to the hospital, and as soon as she stopped in front of the ICU room, she heard some laughing noise from the room. She tapered her eyes. As soon as she went inside, she saw Jack was excitedly talking with someone.
"Wow... I never knew you had so many racing cars. Can you give me a ride?" Jack was holding a phone, probably Archie's phone.
"Yes! Why not. Why don't you come to my palace after getting discharged." Archie asked him.
"You have a palace?" Jack got excited.
Celeste placed the tiffin on the table and it grabbed Archie's attention. He looked at Celeste with a contented smile as if nothing happened between them last evening. Celeste didn't dare to look into his eyes. They had a clash in the hotel's washroom and that was not a mere clash but he kissed her forcefully.
"Celeste.. Mr. Archie promised me that he would take me to drive." Jack said that, seemed he already influenced Jack and that his mood had completely changed.
"Right. First, you need to take your medicines. The doctor said you didn't take it in the morning." Archie opened his fist which had medicines. Without complaint, Jack grabbed them and had them. Celeste was stunned to see this, how irritable Jack turned when she asked him in the morning.
"That's like a good boy." Archie smiled and looked at her. Celeste felt like she lost and he won at that moment.
She opened her tiffin box and took out the fish fry on the plate. She handed it to Jack.
"I made this for you. You are not upset with me." She said, stared Archie from the corner of her eyes. Archie grabbed that plate.
"You are not going to give this food to him." He said and took out his phone. "I am ordering food for him." He started calling someone. Might be the canteen of the hospital. Celeste grabbed his hand and stopped him.
"It's Jack's favourite dish. I made it." She said, Archie didn't say anything but stared at her hand which grabbed his arms. No one dared to do it to him. His eyes turned colder, Celeste immediately got it back.
"Do you think he can eat such oily food over medicine? What if he gets acid reflux? Now he will eat from the hospital canteen what other patients eat." Archie told her, she shook her head. Jack would never eat that but he was smiling and agreeing on everything that Archie said.
"then who will eat this." She gestured at the fish fry on the plate.
"I will.." He started eating it, and Celeste's jaws dropped. He raised his brows while savouring it as if he liked it a lot.
Archie tasted it, and it melted in his mouth. The fresh-caught fish which covered in basic spices and fried in olive oil. He literally can taste every ingredient in it. He had numerous trained chefs in his house to make food for him but they never made this delicious thing.
"Seeing your face, No one can get that you cook good." He sat on the bed beside Jack and continued eating.
"Is it the way you compliment others?" She asked him.
"No, It tastes amazing. I never liked fish before but..." He said and suddenly Chen's words echoed in his mind.
'Make sure you won't fall for her.'
He immediately kept the tiffin back to the table.
"But what?" She asked him. Her face was puzzled but his eyes turned colder.
"Nothing." He got up from the chair. "Why don't you guys come to my house? I'll send my driver to pick you up." He said.
"I have some important work..." She said, hesitating.
"Alright." He started leaving. Celeste thought he would insist on her but it didn't happen. He left within a moment.
Celeste wondered what was wrong with this guy, But the main thing was she kept bumping into him. It seemed coincident but at the same time, it didn't seem like that.
Jack was discharged two days later and Celeste was still worried about the debt that kept increasing day by day. Even though she wanted not to take any more debt, Archie added to her list.
She grabbed her phone and added her job profile to the job searching website. Apart from mowing lawns and cleaning she couldn't do anything else. Her nursing degree was still incomplete and no one would hire a nurse with no final year attendance.
"Celeste, Mr. Archie has called us to his house tomorrow," Jack told her, that Celeste was arranging his books on the shelf. She pretended that she didn't hear him.
"Celeste, are you listening? He is going to show us his car collection." Jack told her, and Celeste slammed the book.
"We are not going. Aren't you afraid of strangers? How can you be ready to visit him." She was annoyed. "Isn't this what you always said? People never approach anyone without any reason. How can we trust him?" She rubbed her forehead.
"Alright!" Jack said and threw all the medicines in front of her. Celeste's eyes widened to see it. "I won't have it. Let me die now." He said and closed the door of his bedroom.
The next morning Celeste noticed a car standing in front of her apartment. The car belonged to Archie, she already recognised it. Jack was still upset with her so she decided to go there.
