Chapter 21As they returned to the house Chrissie met them in the hallway, bursting out laughing when she looked at Kate. ‘I’m guessing you two might want to clean up before dinner’ she chuckled ‘and I want to go for a swim; lets meet in the library about 7ish?’
As they girls walked up the stairs Kate turned to Lex in confusion. ‘Jesus -- there’s a library? and why was your mum laughing at me?’
‘You’ll see soon enough Babe.’ and as they walked into the bedroom and Kate saw her reflection in the mirror all became very clear. She still had foliage and twigs stuck in the clothes and hair and her face was flushed. In short -- she looked like she’d just been well and truly f****d in the garden!
