When she looked in the small mirror, she thought that even her father would have found difficulty in recognising her. With a great deal of smoke and even more noise the train steamed into a Station and then came to a halt. There were numerous people on the platform as some were boarding the train and others meeting travellers from it. There were also porters and trucks containing the mail and a great deal of luggage. Aletha waited for a few minutes before she opened her carriage door. She made sure that the Steward in charge of her coach understood that she was leaving her possessions in the train while she had gone for dinner.
