Chapter Four Lunch wasnt anything special. With the generator up and running we had electricity. The four-burner stove in the kitchen ran off a supply of propane, and while the tank showed as nearly full, no one felt like firing it up. Instead, we nuked some hot dogs in the old microwave. The general store hadnt delivered any rolls for them, but we had plenty of bread. We also had some canned baked beans and canned sauerkraut, but we didnt bother opening them. We werent that hungry for food right now. If we wanted anything to put on our hot dogs we had mustard, ketchup and relish.
