Something doesn't feel right - MATES

905 Words
Prince Zyair “Somethings wrong,” I say, smelling the air once again. My brother snorts in agreement. The air isn't as fresh as I remember, it's a musky smell that can only mean one thing: danger. I can't smell the roses that remind me of my mother, the ones she planted when we were cubs in the remembrance garden for our sister, the one we never got to meet because she was snatched from under my parent's noses when she was knee high to a grasshopper. Our parents have told us what they can remember of her. The special gift from the moon goddess with special gifts that once opened every wolf would want to take for their own whether it be good or evil. After our mother died my dad made a vow, a promise that he'd find Abigail and bring her home. He tried so hard to keep his promise whilst our mother was alive. Now he was on death's door and we made that same promise to bring her home to at least see her father once before he leaves us forever. She is supposed to reign next to us as our successor. Our queen will be crowned king but now we have found our mate, our Luna things will undoubtedly change. Abigail has no idea who she is, what type of will she is, or what she can do for the world if she decides to she's one of the rarest wolves on this earth and that's why father thinks the runt took her away from us and kept her hidden and out of plain sight so she wouldn't turn into what our father had trained us to be. Killing machines and with a wolf-like our sister by our side would cause destruction and a bloody war until we took down all of the other packs around us claiming them as our own and if none of them agreed to our demands, their ending would be brutal and grotesque. We're not sure how Abigail had turned out or where she even was. What we did know was we had to keep our promise to our father and bring her home. “Our mate is getting further and further away. I can feel her heartbeat fading quickly. Someone's after them brother, we need to get to them before anyone else does.” “I agree brother.” A bright light emerges around us like a bolt of lightning that gives us the strength of ten wolves. It made us stronger and faster as we sped across the woodland. We both knew we had to get to our mate before whoever was following them did. We both fear the worst for our mates and whoever is with them. We need to be to all of them and fast before the enemy does. Serenity A rush of energy zaps through me. I feel hot all over and unable to control my inner powers. I'm not sure how many I have but what I do know is I'm not the only one who has these powers and is struggling with them, Sergo, my twin brother. We feel the same thing it is known that twins share mates which would be pretty f****d up in this situation as we're both opposite sexes and I'm not sure how that you even work considering that alone. It's usually the same-s*x twins that have the same mates not opposite unless this world is truly f****d up unless we share opposite-s*x relationships that are too tucked up to think about I hope we haven't got the same mate we're total opposites. But we're feeling the same and I can't shake off the feeling of going on in my mind, body, and soul. I'm not sure if Sergo is having the same problem as me but when I look over at him his eyes are glazed over and completely black f**k if his are pools of darkness what are mine? “Your pupils have dilated brother,” I told him through our mind link. We established our mind link around two years ago. We all have learned to mind-link each other without having open-mind links between all of us if we want a private conversation without getting the other person involved, unless necessary. “So have you, sister.” His mind linked back “What do you think that means?” “It can only mean one thing.” I snorted and we both said, “Mate.” “Mares.” through our mind link. Fuck. What the hell are we going to do? “Did you just say, mates?” “I did.” Double f**k. “We need to tell mom once we stop she needs to know that we're being followed not only by a bad omen but our mates too.” “What if they're a bad omen too?” “Then we'll know to trust me and trust your instincts sis.” “I will make sure you do too, bro.” “I always do.” I nodded snorting, cutting off my link so we could continue running and hopefully stay away from danger even if it includes our mates. Once we stop, we will have to tell mom everything we've been feeling uneasy or not, she needs to know we have mates out there. Mates, as in plural. Two f*****g mates. Double f**k.
