SAD REUNION

The prime minister woke up and started to change many rules to fit his own reign. He changed the maids in the palace serving him and threatened them that they must not try anything funny with him. He made sure to reshuffle the offices in the court and made his son, Jerrick the prime minister in his stead.

His son too was following in his footstep and would suggests many awkward things to the father who was now the King, the other officials could not even protest because they had no choice, they would rather keep quiet than have their heads cut off their body.

He finally visit the former king and queen in the prison and saw that they had lost weight drastically thanks to the harsh life and feeding in the prison

“You sure are having the time of your life on the throne right? You should enjoy it while it lasts because I know your judgment will come sooner or later” the King gritted at him

“The gods will punish you for this that you have done, you dare to destroy the orderliness of the royal house?” the queen supported and he could only laugh at all their rants

“leave the judgment to I and the gods, we will deal with ourselves, you don’t have a say” he said to them and motioned for the guards that came with him to drag them out and follow him

They were dragged out to the yard and thrown on the floor at the new king’s feet

“Bring me the servant’s uniform, they will be serving me from now on, they cannot just be sleeping and eating for free in the palace, they have to work, they have to pay for what they are enjoying” he instructed and the maids scurried to prepare what he had asked for

“I will rather die than get humiliated like this, how can I a king be turned to a slave? Is this what our friendship of years had come to?” the deposed king said grabbing his throat with his hands as if to choke himself

“You cannot kill yourself because I will not let you and also you know suicide is a taboo in our land. You don’t have any choice but to serve me like I have wanted and you made mention of our friendship of years. Why should I consider that when all you have done through the years was to make me understand and make it sink in to my brain that you are the owner of the throne, you would always rant about how you have the final say, discard my ideas and make me look like a figure head until I caught unto your weak point. I finally realized that the loophole was enough for me to make my dreams come true so I had no choice but to take the chance when I can, do not blame me for your ignorance, it was what brought you to this low state that you suddenly find yourself” he said slapping his hand off his throat so he will not proceed with the suicide.

Jerrick came into the yard to deliver a message to his father and saw that he was talking with the deposed king and queen but he just ignored them and gave the message before turning to leave

“I had always thought that you are the perfect fit for my daughter because I took you as my own soon and you both grew up together but it turned out that you were also following your father’s footstep, what do I even expect? The apple doesn’t fall far from the trees. I hope you know that you will face the same destiny with your father someday, the only regret I have now is not supporting my daughter in her difficult times because I was busy creating a space for you beside her” the queen spat at him

“I already told you that I only once loved your daughter, those times are over now and we have no ties whatsoever” Jerrick replied harshly before turning to leave them with the king

They were changed into the slave uniform and they were made to start serving at the King’s quarter which caused so much mumblings and grumblings because it was a humiliation of the highest order

“I will survive this because I know that my child has been waiting for me and I will surely see her someday” the queen muttered and worked firmly where she was placed

The king declared the ritual for the power activation once again and invited every citizen to the palace to participate, the maids didn’t have to because they were normal humans kidnapped from war or by buying from s*****y. The ritual was prepared and every citizen was made to dip their legs into the activation water that has been prepared and left to mature for twenty one days according to the protocol. Everyone got to use their powers once again except the deposed king and queen because they were not given the chance to dip their legs

“I cannot let you have your powers back because you will be nothing but threats to me and I am not ready to stain my hands with your bloods, at least not yet, you should live to see your daughter who you threw out coldly” he told them but they only listened silently since there was nothing they could do anyways

After two years, he finished strategizing and finally declared war on the werewolf’s side, the fight was so tough and brutal but he ended up winning against them and he took them as slaves. Convel and Shirley were part of the slaves assigned to the palace according to the King’s order.

She entered the palace after more than twelve years not as princess but as a slave and when she was taken to where her father and mother was, she cried and wept as she asked them for forgiveness because all what happened was as a result of her actions

“Do not be sorry my dear, I am the one sorry, I shouldn’t have thrown you out coldly at the time when you needed me the most” her mother apologized and they reunited with tears

“Don’t blame yourself, I have never regretted the decision I made because I am always happy to have my husband by my side so that is enough for me. I don’t know how long it will take for this time to pass but it will surely pass, we just have to stay strong” she assured them

“What of your kid? Where is she?” the queen asked with a faint voice, she had been battling with extreme cough and cold but had just little layer of clothes to cover up

“I don’t even know whether my child is alive thanks to the prime minister” she replied bursting into tears

“Don’t worry, everything will be fine” the queen said slowly hugging her

They parted and went to rest in their various quarters and when it was dawn of the following morning, Shirley was called upon by one of the maids to break the news to her

“Your mom is dead” the maid announced and she could not believe her ears
