The blackout

The only light in the room is coming from Alan's iPhone, which reflects strangely on the glass walls that separate us from the outside world and the darkness that took over the entire city. It's a strange atmosphere in the room like the air is suddenly heavier and my lungs have to fight for every breath they take in.  Alan is angry, walking all around the office, cursing the blackout and swearing he is going to sue the electricity company. I would normally giggle at his outraged attitude but the situation that we were in before everything went dark was still rolling in my head. I sigh and go to sit on the couch.
