"Can we talk?" I mumbled, turning to Braiden as soon as Alexis left.
"Get some rest, Alana," he said and started to walk away, but I grabbed his hand and shot him my best pleading look.
"Please?" I whispered. He gave me a hard look and then nodded.
"In ten," he muttered before walking away.
Feeling pleased and happy after a long, long time, I scampered off to my room and quickly changed into one of Braiden's favorite night sets. It wasn't night but oh well. I was in a whole celebratory mood and Braiden's sulking wasn't going to stop us. Everything I fought so hard for was finally mine. I finally got justice for Rhett, or rather I was almost there.
