Everyone walks in tense silence to the office. Amber sniffles, and I wrap an arm around her and squeeze her. She leans into me, and I feel comforted by that. We enter the office, and she pulls her phone from her pocket.
“I’m going to call my grandmother,” She states and ambles over to the couch.
“I have warriors searching the entire territory for the vampire,” Richard states. “Tony and I also will have more warriors patrolling around the packhouse.”
“I guess that’s the best we can do until we get to the bottom of this,” I say and sit in the chair behind the desk.
“Hey, Grandma,” I hear Amber say. “I was almost kidnapped just now.”
“I don’t think the vampire meant to kidnap her,” Skylar sits on the edge of the desk.
