Chapter 9 Long Days Rain had stuffed herself in the cramped quarters. That, combined with the noxious smell from both the cart and Pano, had the warrior's stomach-churning and her mind on the verge of insanity. Now it had started raining. The hard downpour washed the liquid stench from the back of the wagon into her hiding space. What I wouldn't give for a cold running stream. Or one of those indoor baths. A loud voice came from the front of the wagon. "Stop!" Rain braced herself as the wagon jerked to a halt. Another voice cried out, "Damn! The stench." Pano yelled something in return.
