The woman smiled, though it was not visible inside her hood. “I am nothing so trivial.” Aislinne stood, pulling back her hood, exposing flowing blonde hair and silver tattoos that adorned the right side of her face. “Those boys in their red robes play at magic like children with toys. They have no perception of genuine power.” The man backed away, finding comfort near his friends. “My arms froze. The witch killed me.” “You will not die. Though you may lose that hand.” None of the patrons who stood behind the frozen-hand man moved a step, though Aislinne saw several reaching for hilts and shafts.
