Chapter 9
Rebecca and Paige were surprised when John drove out of town to take them to dinner. He explained as he drove that it was, so the girls could see what the neighboring, larger town was like. He also wanted to prove to them they would still have easy access to the amenities they were accustomed to down south.
Once they settled into their meal, the four of them caught up on family news. John forbade any discussion of the station until after they had finished their meal. After the waitress had served their coffee and dessert, Rebecca asked questions about the basic operations of the station.
“So, I noticed the sign in the window stating we would be open tomorrow. How long have you had the station closed, and what should we expect?”
