Chapter 14
Once Paige had finished speaking, Madison gave a signal to her team, and the work began. Equipment specific for moving railroad cars had arrived the day before, brought in to help put the new cars on the track and the platform. They came in along the old tracks as far as they could, then they were pulled the rest of the way by a special machine. The plan was for the conference car and meeting car to be placed at the beginning of the platform. Then Perry Noeland’s two cars, followed by the dining car. They planned to add future cars behind Perry’s, pushing the dining car farther down and eventually away from the platform.
