Jaxon Watching her out of the corner of my eye as I held her hand and she slept, was the best feeling in the world. I couldn't believe myself that this was all over, that our lives would only be moving forward from here on out. I wanted so many things for her, but I wanted to be selfish too and have her all to myself. She was all I would ever need in this life, and I wanted to show her that, I wanted to show her it was only her. The leaves were at their peak, and many littered the ground beneath the tires of the car as I drove that all too familiar road up the pass. Skyla's soft snores were music to my ears, I couldn't believe I had almost lost her again just a few weeks ago, all because I let my temper get the best of me and I wasn't paying attention to what was going on around me. That night Alessandro and Dean had done just what I hoped, they got Samantha and Darlene out of the car without Trey even noticing, and Alessandro had gone back to pull Skyla out. He told me she was out cold when he got to her in the car, but it didn't take long for her to come to. Blinking back the tears I can still see her running in between Trey and I, I watched the fear cross Trey's face, and I knew then she had taken that knife. I watched them struggle as he tried to pull away and I wasn't sure where she got the strength, but she managed to hold him in place as he stared at her, knowing his death was coming soon. I reached her just as I saw that she was falling and I cradled her in my arm, her body was lifeless feeling, and she was hanging across the arm that Trey had cut. I could feel the pain, but it was nothing compared to the pure rage I felt realizing she was bleeding and barely breathing. With my free arm I reached up and grabbed Trey's outstretched hand holding the knife and bent it backwards so fast he didn't have time to react as the blade pierced his chest. I let go of his hand and kicked his feet out from underneath him, sending him flailing down the incline head over feet until his body came to a stop on that very same rock where Skyla had watched me being pulled from her. I didn't look back as I focused all my attention on Skyla in my arms. It wasn't until later that Alessandro told me Trey was dead before he hit that rock. Dean had been at our side in the blink of an eye, and I was never so thankful in my life that he had medical training and was able to stabilize her before the rescue squad got to us. I realized I was at my desired location and pulled the car over. I hated to wake her, but this was something I needed to do as I turned the car off and got out, only to round it and open her door. I decided to not wake her up and pulled her out into my arms as she leaned into my chest. The walk didn't take long, and I smiled seeing everything was arranged just as I had asked it to be, only difference was, Skyla was asleep, not awake, nevertheless I knew I could make it work. I carefully sat down on the blanket outstretched and held her closely, the candles around us were flickering in the small breeze that licked our bodies. The view was gorgeous below us, the leaves danced with all the different colors left clinging to their branches, the town seem to be peaceful, and I was holding my girl. "Jax, where are we?" Skyla whispered as she slowly opened her eyes and looked around. "The lookout?" She looked up at me with her brow raised. "Yes, I wanted us to visit this place one last time, this place is special to not only me, but you as well." She slowly untangled herself from my lap as she stood and walked to the edge, next to the old rock wall looking down over the town. "It is special." She whispered. I stood and walked over to her, reaching in my pocket with one hand and slowly turning her to face me, I wiped the tears from her cheeks, and kissed her forehead. "Skyla I have loved you from the first sight of you hanging in my arms, and watching you turn as red as a tomato. I never stopped loving you, and I know we spent ten years apart, not knowing either of us was still here. But I promise to spend the next hundred years making up for all that lost time." I took her hand and slid the white gold band on her finger, I smiled looking at it, it wasn't a princess cut engagement ring, it was a simple white gold rose holding a lavender colored diamond. I looked back at her and smiled at the tears rolling down her cheeks as she looked at her finger. "Skyla Dukot, would you make me the happiest man in the world and be my wife?" Her arms were around my neck in the blink of an eye and she crashed her lips to mine, I didn't need to hear the word to know her answer, her kiss said it all. She pulled back and our faces were just a breath away. "Yes, yes, I will marry you Jaxon." That was the first night of our new lives together, I would move mountains and rope the moon for that woman and I didn't care who knew it. I was head over heels in love with Skyla.
