“You’ve already charmed your way into everyone’s hearts.” Noah smiled at me.
“Everyone has been so nice.” I agreed, unable to wipe the grin from my face.
“I’m so glad you’re happy here.” Noah whispered, squeezing my hand,
“Come upstairs with me? I want to spend some time with you.” Noah asked.
I nodded, eager to be with Noah, too. I followed him into the elevator. I felt a familiar sensation in my chest, recognizing it as the desire I had felt for Noah before our first date last week. When we stepped out of the elevator, I surprised Noah by pushing him against the wall next to my bedroom door.
I moved my mouth against his as I melted into his body. He was so unbelievably perfect that I couldn’t help myself, I gave way to the desire I felt, even if just for a moment. I felt his chuckle vibrate threw me as his hands explored my body. He moaned against my mouth and deepened the kiss. His thumb traced a warm path against the bare skin of my hip, sending a shower of sparks over my entire body. Eventually, Noah grabbed my forearms and pulled me away slightly,
“You tease me, little mate.” He growled, his olive eyes slightly darker than usual and I knew Remi was pushing through.
“Can I ask you for something?” I said sheepishly, tracing his cheek with my fingertip.
“Anything.” He said so effortlessly.
“I want to talk to Remi.” Those six little words was all it took for Noah to lose control of his wolf. His eyes swirled as the blackness took over the green.
“Mate wants to talk to me!” A voice that sounded like Noah’s but was just slightly off, sang from Noah’s body.
“Hi, Remi.” I giggled as Remi nuzzled his face into my neck and breathed in deeply.
“Mate smells so good.” He cooed, kissing my neck. I shivered at his touch and yelped as he pushed me back towards the wall, his lips eager on mine. I hesitated for just a second as my brain rationalized with the idea of kissing Noah but actually kissing Remi, before I realized that they both felt and tasted the same. I gave into the kiss, tangling my fingers in his hair.
“Remi,” I said, trying to push away from him. Remi purred at the sound of his name and relinquished control of my lips,
“I wanted to ask you something.” I said as Remi trailed kisses down my neck. He lifted his gaze to meet mine,
“Yes, mate?” Noah was right, Remi was more animalistic than him. Even his voice and the way he talked was less human.
“Are you okay with being mated to a human?” It was something I had been worried about since I spoke to Kira and Molly. Was I good enough for a werewolf?
“We have the most perfect mate!” Remi replied, eager to sooth me. I giggled as his breath tickled my neck.
“Okay, good.” After a few more minutes of talking with Remi, and making out, I finally asked for Noah back.
“Was that weird?” I asked him the second his eyes returned to green.
“No, was it weird for you?” He asked.
“Uh, kind of. I was just worried that you would be jealous.” I replied. Noah chuckled at me,
“Remi is me, Evie. He’s the only person I’m not jealous of.” I shook my head at him with a smirk on my face,
“You boys are too much.” I laughed. Noah relished in the sound,
“It feels so good to hear you talk about both of us so normally.” He said honestly.
“I have given up on the idea of normal and have decided to just wing it.” I told him, pecking his lips with mine before scooting away from the wall and entering the bedroom that was now mine.
Noah followed after me, turning on the lights. The closest door was open and I noticed my clothes were already hanging or folded on the shelves. I assumed my bathroom items were already put away as well.
“Who did all this?” I said to Noah.
“Oh, Mack did.” Noah said and I looked at him puzzled,
“Mack is your personal assistant. She’s here for whatever you need; help getting ready, any questions you have, help preparing food, she’s like your personal host or tour guide.” Noah shrugged.
“That seems a little overkill, Noah.” I sighed at him.
“It’s tradition, Evie. It’s considered a great honor to be chosen to be the assistant of a ranked member, especially the Alpha or Luna.” Noah said.
“Giving up on normal, giving up on normal….” I repeated to myself, walking around the bed. I could hear Noah laughing at me from the otherside of the room.
“I have a few hours before my next meeting.” Noah explained,
“What do you want to do?” He asked, wiggling his eyes suggestively. I laughed at him, pushing against his arm before plopping down on the bed. I patted the space next to me and Noah joined me. We switched on the TV and snuggled into each other. Before I knew it, I had dozed off on Noah’s chest.
I stirred and felt Noah’s arms tighten around me. I couldn’t see his face, so I wasn’t sure if he was awake or not, and I couldn’t get out of his grip to sit up.
“Noah?” I whispered, not wanting to wake him up if he was still asleep. He groaned and shifted on the bed. I rolled onto my back and stared up at his perfect face. He was rubbing his eyes with his free hand and yawning while his other arm was still wrapped securely around my shoulders.
“Good morning, my little mate.” Noah smiled groggily at me. I giggled at him,
“I guess we both needed a nap.” Noah looked at his watch. It was around 4:00 in the afternoon.
“Did you miss your meeting?” I asked.
“No, it’s at 4:30, so I have to get going.” Noah groaned, kissing the top of my head before rolling off the bed.
“Will you be okay here for a little bit? I’m all yours after my meeting. You can join me in my office if you want.” Noah rambled on.
“I’ll stay here, Noah, it’s fine. I could use some time to myself to get settled in.” I shrugged, wanting Noah to relax and not worry so much about me. Noah seemed to perk up a little bit at that,
“That’s a good idea. Check out the room and let me know if there’s anything you want to change or add to it. It’s completely up to you. I’ll have Mack check on you in a little bit.” Noah said, giving me a quick kiss before leaving the room. I shook my head at him as he retreated. He was so overbearing sometimes, but I couldn’t help but love it.
