"The love of a family is life's greatest blessing."
I watched him leave the crowd, he ran his long fingers through his dark hair and walked slowly with such an elegance.
I was still under shock, not that I have never been kissed before, no trust me I have a lot of experience.
But...the Black Tiger kissed me.
It sure is different.
I stood up from the chair and walked between the agents, curiosity drawn on their faces. My eyes landed on Hoseok's, he looked as confused as me. He stared at me with questioning eyes, like he was asking me if there was something I haven't told him, but I'm not hiding anything, I mean yes it's true that the Black Tiger only talks to me and Namjoon, but it doesn't mean anything special, it's not something I should brag about.
The orange-haired approached me and grabbed my arm strongly, "What was that?" he asked with a cold tone.
"I don't know." I shrugged and laughed nervously, "I'm as confused as you."
He sighed and avoided my stare. He looked angry and disappointed, I guess he's just jealous because he didn't get to kiss me.
I looked around me, searching for the Black Tiger, I wondered why he would leave the party if he got all dresses up.
"Hyung, I have to go." I told Hoseok.
He raised an eyebrow, "Where?"
"The...bathroom." I lied and left quickly.
People were asking me multiple questions such as, "Does he talk to you?", "Are you dating?", "How was the kiss?" I ignored them all and followed the path he took earlier when he left.
I got out of the garden and stopped when I spotted him talking to our CEO in front of the building. I saw Namjoon chuckling and patting his back, I guess he was teasing him for kissing me.
I smiled and headed slowly toward them and hide behind a tree right behind them. One of the things I learned since I arrived to Bullet&Co is discretion, I can manage to hide whenever I want without getting caught.
"Let me go Namjoon, I'm tired." the black-haired groaned.
"You gotta enjoy one of the few parties we organize man, you can sleep later." Namjoon smiled.
"You know I don't like parties." he frowned. "I prefer to stay in my room." he was about to walk inside when the boss grabbed his arm, "Hey, you need to have fun, drink and party in order to feel better."
"I drink in my room." the Black Tiger mumbled coldly. "Plus, I played that stupid game, now I'm done."
Stupid game...
Namjoon sighed and scratched the back of his neck, he watched him enter the building with a sad and hopeless face. I could understand he has been trying to help him enjoy the life and surround himself with people, but the Black Tiger didn't want any of that.
I really wish I could do something about it.
"What are you doing here?"
I jumped and widened my eyes when I saw the boss was staring at me with a confused face. I was so absorbed in my thoughts that I didn't realize he found me.
"Did you hear everything?" he asked, crossing his arms.
I nodded and smiled awkwardly, "We share the same thoughts though." I said. "I really want him to be happier."
Namjoon chuckled and ruffled my hair, "He's not an easy guy." he said, shaking his head, "He always refuses to join them or talk to any of them."
"That's sad..." I pouted. "He looks like a great guy."
"But he talks to you." Namjoon rubbed his chin, a smirk drawn on his face.
"I still don't know why." I chuckled, "Seems like I'm the lucky guy."
"Indeed you are." he nodded. "I guess he likes you."
"What?!" I nearly choked on my saliva, "What the hell hyung?" I laughed. "Your joke is so lame."
"Who said I was joking?" he raised an eyebrow.
I frowned, "Well he talks to you, no? Why do you think he does it?"
"Because I'm his boss and he trusts me."
"Well same for me, I'm his-" I stopped when I couldn't come up with anything.
Namjoon smirked and watched me with amusement in his eyes. "Told you." he said before heading back to the garden.
He likes me? I repeated it in my mind for a long time and burst out laughing. The boss can really come up with bullshit sometimes.
I shook my head and returned to the garden to join my friends.
~~
The next morning, I had a private session with Jungkook again.
I must admit that I enjoyed spending time with him even though the majority of times we see each other only during a training. Time flies with him, we talk about our life, our friends and the exciting things we did before.
He seems very calm and reserved at first, but when you know him better, he is very open and easy to talk with.
"So, are you ready for tonight?" I asked.
He rubbed his neck nervously, "I don't know to be honest." he smiled. "I'm a little scared."
"Scared that your family will see you." I nodded. "We will make sure to go unnoticed."
"Yeah." he mumbled. "Legs and arms today." he added, "Start with 50 squats with shoulder press-ups."
I warmed up before starting the exercise. I looked at him as I went up and down with the bar. I could read nervousness and fear on his face, he kept biting his lower lip strongly and clenching his fists.
He always used to keep observing me while I'm doing one of the exercices he proposes to see my improvements and the mistakes I make, but this time his thoughts were focusing elsewhere. The wedding obviously.
Tonight is his older brother's wedding, we planned to attend to it because he always wanted to see him holding his wife's hand, smiling happily since they were little kids.
I could imagine how difficult it is to stop talking to your brother, especially because it happened to me. Jihyun left us four years ago to go study in the US. He was in bad terms with our mother during years, we never had a peaceful day in our house in Busan. They would scream and argue everyday. My poor mother always suffered from hearing him tell her that she was the reason why our father left her. I couldn't say anything because I was afraid he would leave us one day.
And he did.
Jihyun was the only one who stayed in contact with our father. He loved hanging out with him and his new wife during the weekends, and thanks to her and her rich family, he's currently studying abroad in one of the best universities.
We never received a call or a text from him since he left.
"Careful!" Jungkook's voice woke me up from my thoughts. I lost my balance and threw the bar on the ground. Thankfully, it didn't fall on my feet.
"What's wrong?" he asked with a worried tone.
"Nothing." I smiled. "Did you tell your boyfriend?"
He shook his head and sighed, "He'll get worried."
"But he'll know it eventually..."
"Yes, but I don't want to tell him right now. He knows I'm weak when it comes to my family, so I don't want to make him worried."
"If you say so..."
~~
After the training, I took a shower and headed to the cafeteria. It was time for dinner and I was so hungry I could devour a tiger.
Hoseok was sitting alone in the table, he looked tired and sleepy, surely because of the amount of alcohol he drank yesterday. I chuckled because he looked funny with his messy orange hair and the dark circles under his eyes.
I approached the table and stood behind him to squeeze his shoulders, "Alcohol doesn't suit you." I laughed.
He turned his head and smiled weakly when he saw me, "Jiminie, come here." he surprised me by grabbing my arm strongly and making me sit on his lap.
I heard the agents around us gasping and whispering bullshit to each other. I turned and waved my arms to tell them that he's only acting this way because he's still under the effect of the Vodkas and Martinis he had last night, but not a single word could leave my mouth when I spotted the Black Tiger in front of the door. He was looking at me with his dark eyes, piercing mine and making me look away. His eyebrow was raised, he must have misunderstood my relationship with Hoseok like the others did.
But the strange thing about it is that I was worried about it. Usually, I don't really care about what people think, but I was afraid the Black Tiger would really think there was something between me and my friend.
"Jiminie." Hoseok cupped my cheeks to make me look at him, "You finished the game early yesterday." he mumbled with a deep voice, "You didn't give me a chance to play too."
"What?" I asked with a nervous tone, "You wanted to play?"
He nodded, "I wanted to kiss you too."
"Oh." I quickly avoided his stare and looked at the agents who were watching us with a smirk on their faces. I widened my eyes when I realized I was still sitting on his lap. My quick acts made me stumble and fall on the floor, making everyone laugh at me.
I groaned and caressed my ass, damn it hurt so much.
"Hey, you alright?"
I lifted my head and saw the guy known as the shortest agent offering me his hand.
"Jihoon." I chuckled and took his arm. He helped me stand up and started laughing, "Seriously how did you get there?" he pointed to the floor.
"It's because of him." I whispered and looked at Hoseok, "I guess he's still drunk."
"Jay hyung has zero alcohol tolerance." Jihoon chuckled, "He's always the first one to get drunk."
"He looks funny." I laughed.
I felt an arm around my shoulders and a warm breath against my cheek. I frowned when the strong smell of alcohol hit my nose.
"You're talking about me huh." Hoseok smirked. "What are you saying?"
"Nothing." Jihoon shrugged. "Jimin hyung, I got some work to do, so I'll see you later." he winked and left the cafeteria.
There is something incredible about Jihoon that makes me keep on staring at him for a long time when he talks to me. He looks so much like the Black Tiger.
No one ever mentioned that they could be brothers, but the resemblance is real.
"Jiminie, let's go to bed." Hoseok hugged me from behind and kept kissing my cheek.
I must admit that he gets really annoying when he's drunk, I don't like people who keep touching me without my consent.
I took his arms away from me and faced him, my arms crossed. "You go to bed, I go to work." I said.
"Jiminiie!" the orange-haired pouted.
"No." I shook my head. "You go alone."
"Pleaase!" he was about to jump and hug me again, but someone quickly grabbed him by the waist, "Easy boy." Namjoon chuckled and ruffled Hoseok's hair, "Being naughty this early in the morning is bad." he smirked.
"Joon." Hoseok smiled lazily and hugged his friend, "Go to bed with me huh?"
The boss bit his lip and flicked his forehead, "Since when have we started sleeping on the same bed?" he raised an eyebrow, "Jay, you're still drunk as hell, go to sleep."
Hoseok pouted and looked at us with sad eyes, "No one wants to sleep with me."
I snorted because he looked extremely cute with his pouting face, his messy orange hair and the blush on his cheeks.
"I'll sleep with you then."
The three of us turned and found Jackson smiling. "I just came from a mission so I need a good sleep too." he added. He approached Hoseok and grabbed his arm, "Let's go?"
"Oh." I furrowed and stared at the boss who was watching them with amusement. He looked at me and smirked, "Finish your dinner Jimin, make sure to eat well." he said before leaving the cafeteria.
Jackson and Hoseok left too, everyone was staring at them then at me. I tried not to laugh because they looked so confused. Serves them well, next time they'll learn to mind their own business.
I sat alone on the table and ate my dinner, sometimes I would stare at the Black Tiger who was calmly drinking his wine. His back was resting against the wall and he had some music playing through the ear buds.
I kept staring at him until I lost track of time. I gasped when I realized I was five minutes late to my meeting with Taehyung in order to discuss my next mission.
I quickly wiped my mouth and stood up, I walked fast between the tables and the most embarassing thing happened; I hit my leg with the wooden chair that was in his table. How lucky I am.
I let out a loud groan because it hurt so badly that I almost saw stars shining in front of my eyes. I heard people laughing again and internally cursed them all and cursed myself for getting embarrassed twice in the same hour.
I turned my head and saw the Black Tiger staring at me with a frown on his face. It looked like I disturbed his moment of tranquility.
"Sorry." I laughed and nervously rubbed the back of my neck, "I can be so clumsy sometimes."
He didn't say anything, but it looked like he agreed well with what I said.
"s**t, I'm late." I mumbled and left running.
~~
Later in the evening, I met Jungkook in the reception hall. He was wearing his black tuxedo and I must admit that it looked really good on him, he had the perfect body to slay in suits and ties.
"Hey, you ready?" I did my best not to to smiling in order to make him feel less nervous.
"Yeah." he nodded. "So, where are you going for your second mission?"
"Barcelona!" I exclaimed. "Some Spanish billionaire wants to find any proof to expose her cheating husband and take over their textile company. So, she needs a trustworthy agent to spy on him and help her win the case."
"Oh, sounds kinda easy." he nodded. "Who's going with you?"
"Tae told me that it wasn't decided yet, we'll see next week."
Jungkook closed his eyes and took a breath, "Let's go." he said with a small voice.
I gently patted his back, "Everything's gonna be good." I told him as we headed outside the building.
"Where are you going?"
We stopped when we heard our bosse's voice.
"Hyung." Jungkook smiled nervously to him.
"Uhm, we're going...out!" I mentally face-palmed for being so uncreative.
Namjoon rolled his eyes and pointed to our outfits, "You're going to the wedding, right?"
Jungkook pressed his lips and nodded.
Of course Namjoon knows... He was actually the one who gave him the wedding invitation.
"Be careful." he gently patted his cheek, "Also, don't get too emotional."
Jungkook simply nodded. He lowered his head, I could see a tear falling from his eye. The boss saw him and took him in his arms, "I'm not letting you go there to make you cry." he caressed his hair. "If you don't feel ready to see them again, then don't pressure yourself."
"I'm going." the dark-haired mumbled, "I need to."
Namjoon sighed. He lifted the younger's chin and pressed his lips to his forehead, "Stay safe."
I shook my head, still not believing that we have been blessed by such an incredible boss. I wasn't too far from falling for Namjoon and I'm not even joking. This man is one of the most amazing and most respective people I have ever met in my entire life.
"Take care of him Christian." Namjoon patted my back.
"Christian?" Jungkook raised an eyebrow.
"Oh, we didn't tell you?" the boss chuckled, "Christian will be his agent name."
Jungkook stared at me with confusion and burst out laughing, "Seriously?"
"Yeah." I rolled my eyes and left.
The wedding took place in a small church in a village not far from our company. The drive lasted only a quarter of an hour.
Jungkook stopped the car and took a breath. I saw him looking at the people entering the church and it seemed like he recognized a few of them.
"Your family?" I asked.
He nodded. "My aunts, uncles and cousins." he said. "I haven't seen them for years because they all live in Europe and the US."
"I see."
"Tell me, do I look different?" he asked. He made sure to change his appearance in order not to be recognizable. He put on some blue contacts, a pink wig and some makeup.
"You do look different." I smiled, "Don't worry, your family will be too busy watching the bride and groom that they won't pay attention to all the guests."
We left the car and waited until everyone entered the church to get inside. There were too many people inside that it was impossible for his family to notice him.
We sat at the back and watched people discussing with each other while waiting for the bride and groom to arrive.
Jungkook was more than nervous, his eyes were resting on two people who were smiling widely and greeting some guests. I knew they were his parents because he had the woman's eyes and nose and the man's smile.
I heard him take a deep breath, I felt bad because I could feel that he was trying so hard not to cry.
I sighed and rested my hand on his. Taehyung would be the most suitable person to be with him during this difficult moment, but I knew he didn't want to worry him, so I shall be a good friend to him tonight.
Claps surged around the room when a man stood in front of them. I looked at Jungkook, he was smiling. His older brother looked a lot like him, both were tall and handsome with a cute bunny smile.
His hand started shaking when his parents hugged his brother tightly and laughed with him. I tightened the grip on his hand and whispered, "Be happy Jungkook, be happy that they are smiling."
I sighed and thought about my poor mother whom I never made proud of me. She must be alone in Busan, crying day and night because of me. She must be sick of receiving calls and having reporters surrounding the house.
Unlike Jungkook, I am such a bad son.
The room went silent and everyone sat down. The music started at the doors opened. The beautiful bride entered and walked down the aisle with a shy smile on her face. Her father was holding her arm and was whispering encouraging things to her. They stood in front of the groom who bowed to his father-in-law and held his wife's hand.
"He always dreamed of marrying her." Jungkook whispered to me. "Her name is Naeun, they met during high school. He was in love with her during long years, he did the craziest things to make her notice him and fall for him, and here they are...a married couple." he smiled.
"You must be proud of him." I said.
He nodded, "I am."
After the ceremony ended, Jungkook wanted to stay a little more to watch his family hugging and talking to each other. It was sad that he was standing only a few meters away from them but couldn't join them and share the joy together.
I was surprised to see him take a camera out of his bag, I guessed he wanted to take pictures of them and keep them as a beautiful souvenir of his brother's wedding.
"Let's go." he said when he was finally ready to let go of them.
I simply nodded and followed him to the parking lot.
"Jungkook?"
We both stopped when we heard his mother calling. I gulped and felt my heart burst inside my chest. I looked at him and read fear and surprise on his face.
"Let's...let's run." he said.
"Jungkook!" she called again and I saw her shadow approaching.
I quickly grabbed his arm and we both ran toward the car.
"Jungkook!"
We saw his brother and the entire family surrounding her as she kept repeating his name.
"I-I saw him, I really saw my son!"
"Eomma...Jungkook isn't here and you know it." his brother took her in his arms, "We know he's not coming back."
Jungkook couldn't start the car. He put his hand on the steering wheel and closed his eyes. He was inhaling and exhaling to calm himself down as he heard his mother talking about seeing him.
"Let me drive." I told him, "Just sleep."
We changed sits and I started the car.
"He really looked like Jungkook." Those were the last words we heard Mrs. Jeon saying before we left.
He couldn't stop crying during the entire ride. I opened the windows to let him at least breath some fresh air that will hopefully calm him down. I offered him my handkerchief and chose not to say anything. Sometimes, people need silence and to be left alone.
~~
When we arrived to Bullet & Co, he called me when I got out of the car and hugged me tightly while still crying. "Thank you so much." he whispered. "I would have never seen them if it wasn't for you."
I smiled sadly and patted his back gently, "I'll be here whenever you need me Kook."
"Jungkook!"
"Shit." he mumbled and we turned to see Taehyung standing in front of the entrance door. His arms were crossed and he was wearing only a blue silk night robe. "Where were you? You weren't answering your phone! It's 2 am for god's sake, you were never too late!"
I tried not to laugh, Taehyung really did look worried about him and I couldn't help thinking 'Couple goals'. How beautiful it is to have someone who waits for you and worries about you.
"He was with me!" I raised my hand, "Don't worry, your boyfriend's safe."
Taehyung raised an eyebrow when he saw our tuxedos, "I don't remember myself sending you both on a mission."
"I know, but we just wanted to go out and-"
"Tae, I'll tell you everything."
Taehyung approached us and widened his eyes when he saw that Jungkook was wiping some tears from his cheeks. "Kook? Why...why are you crying?"
His question only made Jungkook more emotional. He couldn't take it anymore and cried again. Taehyung quickly took him in his arms and looked at me with questioning eyes.
"Don't worry." I mouthed, "He just needs you."
"Babe." he kissed his cheek, "Please tell me what's wrong."
"I'll tell you everything after I take a shower." I heard Jungkook mumble.
They entered the building, I was about to follow them when I heard footsteps behind me. I stopped when I saw the Black Tiger approaching, I wondered if he witnessed what just happened.
He didn't say anything, he just stared at me with his cold eyes for a few seconds before he headed toward the door.
"Wait!" I shouted and grabbed his arm. He looked at me with surprise and raised an eyebrow.
"I wanted to ask you a question." I said, still grabbing his arm.
He hummed, waiting for me to talk.
"Why did you kiss me?"
He rolled his eyes and sighed, "Is this why you stopped me?"
I nodded.
"You asked this question to the others too?"
"No." I answered.
"Then what? What's the problem?"
"I just wanted to know why.."
"Can you be more stupid?" he frowned. "It was just a stupid game! The boss wouldn't have let me go if I didn't play."
Oh.. Just for the game.
"But...you could have kissed the others...why me?" I asked.
"Why?" he mumbled coldly and surprised me by pinning my body against the wall. He slammed his hands on each side of my head and pierced my eyes with his, "So you do have a problem huh. Why? Was is that disgusting? Was is that bad?!"
I slowly shook my head, "I never said that." I smiled. "It wasn't bad at all. It was good."
I saw his eyes widen as he stared at me smiling.
"It was really nice." I added.
No words were exchanged, just eyes looking at each other, just hearts beating at once, just breaths meeting. It lasted for a few more seconds, before he broke our eye contact and looked away.
I saw him gulping and closing his eyes, he looked nervous and scared. I wanted to say something and grab his arm again but he quickly got inside the building and left me alone, my back still against the wall, smiling like an i***t.
Damn he's cute.
