~Geoff~
I don’t think I’ve ever showered and dressed so quickly in my life. To say that I’m excited to spend some time with my mate is a vast understatement. I don’t think anything can top this event. Well, I guess when we complete our bond, but I don’t want to jump the gun.
Once I got off the elevator, I could hear talking. It made me wonder who pissed who off. It sounds like someone got kicked out of the room, and they are trying to get back in. The tremor that goes through the walls solidifies my assumption, and I chuckle to myself. Nothing I thought could have prepared me for the scene in front of me.
That bastard is standing in front of room 415. I can feel a Gamma aura in full force, and he’s struggling to stay on his feet. My mate has her hands on her hips, and her glare could kill a man if that were possible. She has half her hair curled, incomplete makeup, and is wearing workout shorts and a bra. I’m sure she isn’t planning to hit the party looking like that, so he must have interrupted her. “What’s going on here?” The Gamma aura is pulled in, and he slowly stands to his full height. Melanie crosses her arms over her chest and glares at her unwanted guest.
He turns to look at me with disgust written all over his face. “What the f**k are you doing here?” I casually lean against the wall by her door and cross my arms over my chest.
“I think that’s a question I should ask you. By the look of things, you are harassing my date.” Melanie flicks her eyes at me like she wants to say something, but she doesn’t and looks back at him.
“You’re date?! You must be joking. I came to escort my mate to the party.” I can feel Thor rumbling in my head. He wants to take control and rip his head off, but I won’t let him.
“Escuse me? Your what?!” I think it may be best to let Melanie handle this one. I get comfortable against the wall so I can watch the show. He turns back to Melanie and takes a step forward. Thor gets riled up, but I quiet him.
“You and I both know there’s something between us. Neither of us is mated, and I bet we can do worse than each other. Instead of fighting how you feel, you should just give in. Let’s stop wasting time.” I can feel the anger rolling through Melanie, and it’s pretty intense.
“The only thing between us is disgust. The only thing I feel for you is annoyance and anger. If I were to give in to my feelings for you, they’d have to come pick up the pieces of your body. I’ve told you that I’m not interested. I’ve shown you no interest.” Melanie steps forward, her arms dropping, and her hands fisted. “Stay the f**k away from me. I don’t want you.” He growls and moves his arm as if he’s going to grab her; that’s my cue.
“I would rethink that. If you touch her, I swear there will be hell to pay.” He swings toward me and takes a step.
“Just who the f**k do you think you are? You’ve been interfering since day one, and I’m sick of it.” I wish I could release my aura, but I can’t. I did just throw my match and got eliminated, but I can’t let anyone know who I really am.
Thor is howling in my head, begging to be let loose. I just can’t do that, but I allow him a growl, a long, low, earth-shattering growl. His face morphs from anger to worry, and Melanie looks surprised. She seems a bit turned on to me, but that may be in my head. “If you don’t mind, my date needs to finish getting ready, and you are in her way.” I push off the wall and walk past him. I place my hands on Melanie’s waist, allowing the sparks to distract me for a bit. I push her into the room and slam the door shut with my foot.

“Was that really necessary?” Geoff angles his head and looks me up and down.
“I don’t know what you mean. I simply helped get you back inside. You have a date to get ready for.” I sigh and roll my eyes.
“Sit in that chair and don’t move.” Geoff smiles at me, and I can feel butterflies in my stomach. Stupid mate bond. He winks at me and sits in the chair as requested.
I walk into the restroom, determined to finish getting ready. I start to attach my straight hair with the curling iron, trying to be quick but thorough. “You handle hosnheohb.” I detach from the curling iron and place it on the counter. I pop my head out of the doorway.
“What did you just say?”
“I said you handled him perfectly. I was truly impressed.” I huff and go back to my hair. I finish and go back to my makeup. I’m not one who wears it too often, but I do have a few tricks. I apply a smokey eye and a bit of blush. I apply red lipstick that matches my hair color. I take off the exercise pants and adjust the black lace panties that match my strapless bra.
My mind goes to my mate and how incredible he looks. He has his dirty blonde hair in a man bun, exposing his thick neck. It makes his marking spot visible, and my gums itch at the thought of marking him. His black slacks mold his thick, muscular thighs. He’s wearing a red button-up shirt under a black blazer. He has the top few buttons undone, and I can see a bit of a tattoo that he has.
I shake my head and focus back on the task at hand. I can’t allow this stupid bond to get me distracted. I step into my dress and pull it up. I don’t dress up often and am usually self-conscious to do so. I’ve trained so long that I’m more muscular than many she-wolves. I always felt that men liked the more lean woman.
I opted for a sleek dress, leaving a good amount of my body. The dress is black to allow my hair and lips to stand out. It has a sleeveless cowl neckline with spaghetti straps. There’s an asymmetrical high slit on my left side, and the dress hugs my curves. I straighten the dress down while looking in the mirror one last time. I take a deep breath to help me swallow my nervousness.
I walk out of the bathroom and go straight to the bed. I slip on my black stilettos and can feel his eyes on me. I turn to Geoff and find him adjusting his package. I grab my evening bag and walk over to him. I hold my hand out to Geoff and look into his black, swirling eyes. “I’m ready. Let’s go.”
