I watch in horror as Melanie is held helpless on the mat. Her legs are crossed at the ankles, and her arms are pressed to her side. The more she struggles against his hold, the tighter he seems to squeeze her. Everyone can see how much pressure he’s applying to her body to keep her immobile.
I hear what he’s saying to her, and my blood is boiling. She’s quick with quips back, but I know it’s all she can do at the moment. I wish I could save her, but I just know that she would rip my balls off if I step into that ring. It’s a constant fight with Thor for us to stay out of it.
I watch him lean into her, grinding his pelvis on her and licking her face. I swear if I get my hands on him, I’m going to rip his d**k off and stuff it down his throat. As if all of that wasn’t enough, the worst begins to take shape.
That motherf**ker pulls his head back a bit, and I see his canines elongate. He has a sick smile on his face, and I realize at that moment that I may lose my mate. GET IN THERE!!
I can’t, Thor. I can’t…..
ARE YOU F**KING KIDDING ME?! He’s about to mark our mate, and you’re just going to stand here like a f**king i***t? I struggle against Thor, almost losing my grip. He gained enough power to cry out.
“MINE!” The growl that follows shakes the ground, and everyone has eyes on me……everyone.
~Melanie~
You have to get out of this!
Don’t you think I’m trying, Winnie?! Be serious right now! You act as if I want to be in this position.
No, Melanie, you have to get out, or he will hurt us. He…. he’s going to mark us. She can’t be serious right now! He’s going to force his mark on us? There’s no way in hell I will let that happen. I continue to struggle against Brady, but I don’t feel him give an inch. Little did I know that my shot would come sooner than later.
“MINE!” I hear my mate’s deeper-than-usual voice; it must be his wolf. I feel the ground shake beneath me, and I notice that Brady’s attention is divided. I feel the shift of his body and the slight loosening of his hold on me. It may not be much, but it’s now or never.
I turn my body slightly, seeing that I have a bit more give than before. Brady is moving his head closer to me, but he doesn’t have the same attention on me as before. “Yours, huh?” Brady is whispering, and I hear him chuckle. I take a deep breath and muster all the power I can find. The second I feel his breath on my ear, I pull my head forward before throwing back as hard as I can. Brady cries out, and his arms disappear from the sides of me. I pull an arm free and send my elbow flying backward. I have no idea what part of Brady I hit; I just know I made contact. My legs are suddenly free, and I pull a leg up sharply, bending at the knee, and driving my heel into his back. Brady falls forward, and I yank my head back again, catching him in the face.
I can feel a warm liquid on the back of my head, but I don’t care. Brady falls back on my legs, and I act fast. I pull my body up a bit before slamming myself backward, my back landing on his front. Brady is coughing, trying to get air, but I know now isn’t the time to let up. I quickly pull myself upright, straddling Brady’s body, reverse cowgirl. I form fists and start to pummel his junk, punch after punch after punch. Brady’s voice grows hoarse from screaming, but my focus is off. All I can think of is ending the man who attempted to mark me forcibly.
My body is yanked to the side, and my vision is fuzzy. I fight the hands that are on me, not understanding what’s going on. I blink a few times, and my vision starts to clear. The announcer checks on Brady, who’s writhing on the mat in agony. I’m being held back by one of the enforcers they had on the premises. “THIS MATCH IS OVER!” The announcer gets back on the ground, tending to Brady. Small arms encircle me, and I look up to see Jax and Shanice moving toward me. They help me up and out of the ring, having me take a seat on the ground. They give me water, and I see their mouths moving, but I can’t make out any words that are being said.
“Gamma?”
“GAMMA?!” Clicking in my face helps to focus my attention. The enforcer that held me back and the announcer are kneeling in front of me. I look past them and see Brady being carried out of the ring on an improvised stretcher. I focus on the men in front of me, hoping the ringing in my ears will stop. “Gamma, can you hear me?” I think I nod. “We can call for a disqualification.” I don’t respond. “Do you want him disqualified, Gamma?”
“Wh…..who….who won?” My voice sounds foreign to me, and my mouth is dry.
“You did, you won Gamma. He tried to mark you, so I can disqualify him.” I shake my head, the movement making me a bit nauseous.
“I’ll take the win.” He nods at me and stands up. I close my eyes, hoping that the spinning will stop. There’s too much going on right now; sensory overload at the max. I just want quiet. I feel hands pulling me up, and I allow my body to follow. I’m being led somewhere, but my eyes are closed, so I can’t see where.
“......winner…….Melanie……Mountain Pack.” Cheering erupts all around me, but it’s all too loud. Something cool and metal is thrust into my hand. I grab hold of it, not knowing what it is. I start to walk off, stumbling a bit. I open my eyes to see Jax at my side, helping me walk. Shanice reaches for the item I’m holding, and I let her take it. Brooklyn is walking in front of me, looking back at me every few steps with worry in her eyes.
I look up, and his eyes are in front of me, checking me over. He’s speaking to me, but I’m not sure what he’s saying. He steps toward me and reaches out; his hand caresses my face. I don’t know what comes over me, but I bend forward and let loose all over him. I close my eyes, and I sway before hitting the ground.
