Chapter 15 This time when I found myself in the meadow over the waterfall, I was further north along its length than I had ever been before. For someone who longed to make a life for herself where Runde and Villmark overlapped, I didn't know as much about those places as I ought to. "I didn't know anyone lived this far east of Villmark," I said as Loke and I trudged through the snow. It wasn't an easy walk. The meadow grasses were like little tents of air under the cover of the snow, and the top layer was icy from the wind blowing off of Lake Superior. Each step crunched through that ice and almost came to a rest in the snow. It felt like my foot was on solid ground, but the moment I put weight on it, it would crush through one of those air pockets, throwing me off balance. I imagined
