Chapter 12
The minute I had finished climbing the steep path back up the level of the highway, my phone rang. I stepped back from the noise of the road as far as I could, then took the call.
"Hey," Andrew said.
"Hey," I said back. "What did you learn?"
"Not much. You sound out of breath?"
"I was just at Neil Nilssen's farm, next door to Tuukka. I'm about to cross the bridge back towards home," I said. I turned my back to the highway to look out over the lake, always a better view.
"Do you think he's a suspect?"
"My gut says no," I said. "But he's involved somehow. What did the medical examiner say?"
"They've eliminated most basic poisons. But since I mentioned Lisa, they're doing a more thorough check now. Most of that involves sending samples to an outside lab."
