I couldn’t even stay at the office after my disastrous lunch with my mate. I had to get out because I didn’t want to see his wife again, and I really didn’t want to see them together. I knew getting to him would be hard since he’s human, but this wife thing makes it harder.
I’m not one to question the Moon Goddess, but I feel that I have no choice here. Why would she pair me with a human who’s already taken? I’ve waited for my mate ever since I found out what fated mates were. I’ve always imagined finding my mate and being swept up in the love a mate bond brings.
