Jacob’s pov
Alexa didn’t come back after lunch. She called the office saying she wasn’t feeling well. I wondered what was wrong. She seemed fine before she left. Was it me? Was I the reason she wasn’t coming back to work?
Did I make her feel uncomfortable? Man, she was by far the best employee I had. I couldn’t lose her over this. I decided to go to her house to talk to her. I needed to fix this.
She needed to know that yes, I wanted her, but I would keep everything professional. If she wanted to stop working with me so much, then I would understand.
I grabbed all the files I needed and stuffed them in my briefcase before heading out. If my father found out about this, he would be disappointed in me. I wasn’t being very professional.
