Chapter 15 WHEN I DROVE TO JOELLE'S townhouse in Middleboro, she was just leaving with that pug of hers on a leash. Her eyes went wide when she saw me, and she glanced at the house. “What are you doing here?” An immediate expression of relief came over her as she answered her own question. “Oh, you're here to see your father!” “No,” I replied matter-of-factly. “I'm here to see you.” The worried expression came back as she looked toward the house. “Okay, well...
