She enjoyed their ride, although she felt slightly guilty when her uncle spoke to her as if it was the first time that she had been on one of the Duke’s horses.
Too late she felt that she should have told him what she had been doing yesterday morning when she came back to Mere.
But, because she had already had breakfast in the farmhouse and therefore did not need another one, she had not met her uncle until later in the morning.
