Lex wasn’t sure how to respond. He didn’t want to say anything that would tip his hand by saying he wasn’t into women until he was sure where Trent stood, and he didn’t want to close the door to any possible action between him and Trent by making it look like he dug chicks rather than guys.
He finally came up with, “Naw, I’m not into gettin’ it on with strangers. I need to know someone before I’m comfortable climbin’ in the sack.”
Much to Lex’s relief, Trent said, “Me neither. I like to get better acquainted before I start messin’ around with anyone.”
Lex noted that both of them had avoided using gender-specific pronouns. This, coupled with the number of times Trent seemed to have his hands on Lex, encouraged Lex’s expectations that something just might be in the works between them.
