Iris's Pov
I was done with packing up some important needs in a bag, and I stepped out of the room, then walked down to the living room where I met Pierce and Mia just coming in.
Mia had arrived with all her things.
“So despicable.” I said under my breath with spite as I glared at them.
Pierce then cleared his throat and moved closer to me.
“I planned to come home to ask you to move out from the main bedroom and settle in one of the other smaller rooms.” He informed me.
Although I had planned to leave, hearing Pierce have the guts to tell me to leave the main bedroom for a smaller one was really hurtful.
Then I looked into his eyes with so much pain and hatred.
“You don't need to bother. I'm leaving the palace completely. Thank you for wasting my time and betraying me.” I said, with clenched teeth.
Then he burst out into laughter which caught me by surprise.
“Stop being so dramatic. After all, you stole my man in the first place.” Mia finally spoke with a raised brow while sneering at me.
“You are delusional. Has anyone ever called you that? I never knew that you both were a thing in the past.” I defended myself and shot a glare at her.
“Just calm the f**k down, Mia. All this is happening because you didn't get pregnant for three years that we've been mated. Look. Even if Mia didn't return, I was going to look for another girl outside because I need an heir. You get that?”
My heart wasn't done breaking and his words only caused it more pain. But I decided to put on a strong facade. He didn't deserve to see my weakness nor my pain.
Then I moved closer to him and squared my chin as I looked up at him.
“I regret ever meeting you, and I wish you both a great life.” I said, then made to walk away, but Pierce pulled me back to a standstill.
“What the hell!” I screamed at him in frustration.
“You can't leave, Iris.” He uttered boldly.
My eyeballs danced left and right as I looked into his eyes in confusion.
“What do you mean?” I questioned him and pursed my lips in irritation.
Then he turned to his guards who weren't far from us.
“Ensure that she doesn't leave this palace.” He ordered them.
“Yes Alpha!” They responded in unison, and Pierce looked back at me.
“You can't leave because you still have an important role to play here.”
A surge of anger went through me as he said that, and I felt so much like giving him a punch in his groin. I couldn't believe he had the audacity to order his guards to ensure I didn't leave.
After hurting me, he still wanted to keep me in the palace to increase my pain of watching them act like lovers? While the people stare at me pitifully as one dumped for her sister?
“You can't say that. I'm leaving!” I voiced out and made to leave, but the guards quickly got to me and held me down.
“Let me go! I command you, let me go!” I screamed out as I struggled to set myself free.
But they didn't let me go. Instead, they dragged me on Pierce's orders, to one of the smaller rooms I refused to stay in and I was locked in like a prisoner.
I ran to the door and hit it several times, not caring if it broke down or anything because that's what I wanted, but the door was as strong as hell.
I finally gave up, and turned my back to the door, then slid down to my butt, beyond frustrated..
First, he broke my heart, and now, forced me to spend the night in a bedroom like a prisoner. How did my world turn so different in one night?
I glanced at the night sky, feeling my heart become heavy like a rock sinking down to the bottom of the sea. Pierce had made mockery of me by doing this, and he would certainly pay for it.

Morning came and I was woken up by the sound of the locks. The door opened and I hurriedly dashed outside to the living room only to meet everyone present, including my parents.
“What the hell is going on? Why was I locked in!” I demanded an explanation from them with furrowed brows.
“Morning. Iris, after all that happened last night, we decided that it would only be fair for you to also get married.” Pierce spoke as he slid his hands into his pockets.
“Married!” I exclaimed in confusion. “To whom?” I questioned, inquisitively, although, not with keen interest.
“You’ll be getting married to the famous Alpha of Alphas.” He answered with a slight grimace and I instantly stiffened m.
There was only one man who was regarded as that. He was rumored to be a ruthless Alpha and was also powerful as 100 combined.
My brows furrowed in confusion as I looked at my parents and Pierce.
“Why in the world would you want me to do something this ridiculous?” I questioned.
“Iris, the Alpha of Alphas is currently angry with our pack, and you know very well that we can't afford the wrath of his anger, so in order to pacify him, we plan on sending a bride his way.” My father explained, this time.
I didn't know what was wrong, but I burst out into laughter.
“Are you for real? This is so ridiculous. You all are ridiculous. I have no business involved in anything related to the pack issues now that I have been demoted.” I reminded them just in case they had forgotten so soon.
“You have to do this. This is the only way you can show your gratitude to Pierce and us, your parents.” My mother interfered.
I took a step backwards as vertical lines appeared in between my brows. This was like the upteenth time they had confused me with their actions.
Why on earth did they hate me so much to the point of wanting me to become a bride of someone who other Alphas are even afraid of?
“No! I won't allow that. I already plan on leaving the pack, anyway.” I refused as I squeezed my face in utter disapproval.
“As I said earlier, you can't leave.” Pierce repeated himself with a darting look.
“Iris, you do not have a choice in this situation and if you do not do it willingly, you will be forced to.” My mother said to me in a strict tone.
A big part of my heart broke and I shook my head lightly, wondering why all this had to happen to me.
“Why do you both hate me so much? No. Have you ever loved me?” I asked my parents, baffled that they could be so comfortable to sacrifice me to the Alpha of Alphas.
“We love you, Iris. And we only have your best interest at heart. Don't worry, one day, you will understand all that you're confused with.” My father said in an assuring tone like there was something more to it.
