Chapter 2 Like nearly everyone else in the work force, Wes was already looking forward to the weekend by his lunch break on Monday. Phillip called four times and sent numerous texts throughout the week. After reading one text, in which Phillip insisted that Wes owed him another chance, Wes deleted everything else from Phillip without reading it. When he started imagining whatever confrontation scene would occur when Phillip returned—something that was guaranteed, given Phillip’s tendency towards histrionics—he tried to change his train of thought by planning his sale route at Faire. Circus Stella and the Royal Falconer show were always popular, but there were several shows throughout the day that coincided with other popular acts.
