21 | I'm Sorry

980 Words
Adelina Cortez's POV I took off running down the hall and stopped to catch my breath. After a few breaths I turned and smacked straight into a solid chest. I looked up with tears in my eyes and frowned. "What do you want?" I asked with venom dripping from my voice. "Adelina," Kane said softly and I pushed away from him. "You went too far Kane. This," I said pointing between me and him. "Is over." He pulled me towards him and sighed. "I'm sorry baby. Please," he begged and I shook my head. "No Kane. You're toxic for me. You bring pain and trouble. Yeah, I admit, I kissed Andrew to make you jealous, but you didn't have to go f**k some b***h!" I yelled and slapped him hard. "Ad-." I slapped him again and frowned. "No! We're done. It's done. I'm done. Bye Kane," I whispered and stormed away. I didn't get far before I was pulled into a closet by a strong pair of arms. "Shh," the man whispered, covering my mouth. "It's me, Andrew." I let my body give out and I slumped into his arms. "What happened?" He asked softly. "We messed up," I whispered and he held me tighter. "I got you Adelina. Let it out," he whispered and I did. I cried until I couldn't cry anymore. My heart ached for Kane, but I did my best to let it go. "Want me to bring you home?" He asked and I nodded. "That would be nice," I told him and I let him guide me out of the building. On our way to my car, I noticed the red head smirking at me. "Your man has good d**k," she purred and I growled in response. "Andrew," I warned and he let me go. I walked up to the b***h and punched her hard, breaking her nose. "Keep your mouth shut, b***h. I'm not the one you want to play with. I'll f*****g ruin you," I spat at her and turned away, walking back to my car. "Adelina!" Kane yelled and I took a deep breath. "What?" I asked calmly. He stopped in front of me and reach out to touch my cheek. I stepped back and frowned. "What do you want?" I asked impatiently. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Please, I can't live without you," he whispered and my heart broke even more. "It seemed like you could not that long ago. It's okay Kane. We weren't really together anyways, I guess. See you around," I told him and tossed my keys to Andrew. "You're leaving with him?" Kane growled and I groaned in annoyance. "Not that it's any of your business, but no. I'm not leaving with him like that. He's bringing me home," I said then opened my door. Andrew quietly climbed inside and started my car, leaving an uncomfortable silence among us. "I know why you hit on me and it's okay. I understand, but please know, this isn't going anywhere," I told Andrew. He chuckled and smiled. "I know Adelina. I'm actually sorry I went about approaching you like that. I'm nothing like my father," he said softly. "Like I said, it's okay," I told him again and smiled. "So, um, can I ask you a question?" He asked and I raised a brow. "Sure." He cleared his throat and scratched the back of his neck. "Why can't this going anywhere?" He asked and I smiled softly. "Because I'm in love with that i***t," I whispered and I heard him sigh. "You going to work things out with him?" He asked and I shrugged. "Honestly, I don't even know. I had just started to really let myself fall for him and then this happens," I said sadly. "I know I did wrong, but he f****d that girl. He went too far," I whispered and felt the tears build in my eyes. "I just wish things were back to normal." He squeezed my hand in reassurance and smiled. "Everything will be okay." "Thank you," I told him and smiled back at him. We pulled up at my house and I slightly frowned. How the hell did he know where I lived? I shook off the weird feeling and climbed out. "You can come in, but not for long," I told him and he smiled. "Sounds good to me." I unlocked my door and opened it for Andrew to walk through. "I'll be back," I said and he sat on the couch. "Okay." I walked out of the living room, but stopped when I heard his phone ring. "Hello?" He asked and I held my breath. "Yeah. Plan is in action. You did good baby. I didn't think you'd actually f**k him," he said in annoyance. "Holy s**t," I whispered then slapped my hand over my mouth. "I'm at her house. Keep Kane occupied. He'll be sad so you can weasel your way in," he told the woman before they said their goodbyes. I gulped and slowly and quietly walked to my room. I changed into some sweats and a long sleeve shirt before heading back to Andrew. I smiled and acted as if I heard nothing. "Hey. I'm really tired. You good with going?" I asked him and he nodded. "Sure. See you later Adelina," he said and left my house. I casually locked up and made my way back to my room. To Kane Help! My phone started ringing and I answered it. "Hello?" I questioned. "What's wrong?" He asked with concern. "Andrew and that red head are working together. I overheard him. He knew exactly where I lived!" I told Kane in panic. "Calm down. I'm on my way," he said before hanging up. I sighed while pacing back and forth. "Where are you?" I asked myself out loud. "I'm right here," I heard, before everything went dark.
