I knew what it felt like to have my heart ripped out, but this… those words were hell to hear. I tried to ignore it as I slowly prepared myself. I should say it, shouldn’t I?

“Well?” Lara asked.
My eyes roamed over her. She looked okay, but was it still too early for this?
“Fine, I’ll do it then,” she said, getting up from the bed.
She walked over to me, but before she could say anything, I interrupted her. “What if you haven’t fully recovered yet?”
“I’m fine,” she replied.
