Ruhi groaned as maids came in her room to wake her up, seems like she will be having breakfast with the Archduke. She frowned but did not comment on it, while maids did their job some of them started praising her for beautiful hair and the soft texture of skin. To which she just chuckled, thinking how they all were gasping in utter disgust when they saw her scares. She sighed thinking no matter where you are humans are always fickle.

She sighed as maids combed her hair and made her wear the dress, she stopped them from powder on her face. It seems like people here like fair skin much better, she saw how unnaturally pale people looked. Even maids have put the whitening powder making their neck and face complexion unnatural. Ruhi is not a white person unlike them, she has a slight tan on her skin because of all the sun while her stomach and legs which has always been covered from clothes are fairer than her hands, neck and face yet it cannot compare to the ‘white people’.

She sighed, not knowing why the hell are people obsessed with white. She can see that most of the people she has met so far are white except the Archduke who has deeper tan than her. She sighed and shook her head. Maids applied some lip tint which appeared natural, with that Ruhi called it off, seeing that they were about to put blush on her cheeks.

She does not dislike makeup; on the other hand, she likes it very much. Man, who does not like playing with the looks but right now is not the right time. After breakfast she plans to go out and find a job for herself, so having a fragile lady look won’t be beneficial for her. She got up and walked out of the room with the maids following her. Maids have to admit that the way Ruhi carries herself is just like a Queen, she appears intimidating just by her walking style.

Felix nodded at her which she returned, taking her seat which was just opposite to the head of the table where Felix sat. Ruhi looked at the food, it was mouth watering but she did a good job of controlling herself from drooling.

“I hope you slept well, Milady”; Felix said in a calm tone making every maid stiffen and flinch at the tone. They have only seen their master talking in this tone when he is about to kill somebody. Yet there is a degree of softness as well, they cannot decipher if their master is being genuinely kind or if he wants to kill the lady.

The reactions of maids did not go unnoticed by Ruhi, seems like Archduke is feared by everyone. She scoffed in her mind not know why would they fear such a cute man. But she has to admit, she does not know anything about him, what if he tortures innocent people or use his maids for s****l pleasure and then discard them. Even though Archduke’s reactions are cute but she cannot judge a person from his reactions.

“It has been great so far.”; She replied in a very soft tone smiling at him. Archduke nodded as they both started having their breakfast. She was eating quietly not knowing that Felix glanced at her from time to time; she was too much into food.

“Do you have any plan for today, Milady?”; He questioned her making her look at him and nod to his answer.

“I was thinking about going out and search for a job.”; He frowned, why does she want to have a job, he assured her that she will get anything she wants here.

“Did the maids not answer your call?”; He questioned as he glared at the maids who quivered at back. They looked down shivering like a wet cat, they were very close on kneeling down and crying for their lives.

“No, it is not like that. You have done enough for me already; I need to earn my own money.”; she answered, she does need to earn her own money and other than that she will needs to learn about this world and have some trust worthy people by her side.

Felix raised his eyebrows at her, he never thought of her as a righteous person seeing how she used the opportunity to infiltrate his house. There must be some reason behind this, maybe she will be contacting her supervisor to tell him that she is successfully inside his house, or maybe she will be collecting her subordinates to conspire against him.

Ruhi sighed and went back to her food, she could read whatever he was thinking so easily. Even though Felix have a poker face but his eyes are very expressive, his eyes gives everything away. She knows that he is waiting for her to take some wrong steps so, that his doubts could become reality but she knows that is never going to happen because she does not even know him or this world. She does not have grudge against anyone here not even the bandit who held her captive for some few minutes.

“Very well, Severus will assign you a maid who will guide you through the town”; He said to which she nodded in a thankful manner. She knows she looks ‘unique’ here because of her tan, she has not seen a single lady who has a tan, even Sylvia who is a knight does not have a tan at all. She finished her food, excusing herself she went out of the dinning room. The food was good but now she needs some normal clothes for her to walk through the streets without being centre of attention.

She went to the room assigned to her, looking through the wardrobe she sighed, every dress was lavish and screamed high class, she has seen how normal woman wear clothes when she was in the carriage. She has to ask for some normal clothes, but from whom. She was thinking when there was a knock. She allowed the person to come in absent minded when Severus addressed her.

“Milady, this is Maria, she will be your personal maid and will tend to your every need.”; Severus said as he pointed to the girl standing behind him. Her violet hair shinned brightly, while her green eyes held a mysterious glint.

Maria gave her a wide smile as she bowed down to her in respect.

“It is nice to meet you, Milady!!”; She shouted in excitement as she looked at Ruhi in admiration. Ruhi chuckled at the behaviour, while Severus hardened his eyes.

“Watch your manners, Maria”; He said in a low but cold tone warning Maria not to forget her status. Maria’s eyes widened as she shivered, she looked at Ruhi and then at butler and after that she looked at her feet. She rubbed her thumbs together in nervousness, she was about to cry and say sorry when Ruhi spoke up.

“It is perfectly alright, Sir. I did not take that as an insult.” Ruhi said with a smile when Severus looked at her with wide eyes and horror.

“Milady, please call me Severus. I am no Sir.”; Ruhi raised her one eyebrow and looked at him in question.

“But you are older than me, I cannot call you by your name”; Ruhi said as if that was the most obvious thing to say.

“Milady”; Severus called her in a troubled voice making her sigh as she nodded. Severus sighed in relief; he does not want Archduke’s guest to call him ‘Sir’; he is just a butler not a ‘Sir’.

“Maria”; Ruhi called her as Severus took his leave. Maria looked at Ruhi with sparkly eyes as if she is really excited to sever her.

“Can you please bring some normal clothes, if I go out like this, I will have trouble securing some job.”; Ruhi said to which Maria nodded.

“Of course, Milady!! As You Wish!!”; She said in an excited tone as she walked out of the room with a fast speed. She does not want Ruhi to wait for long, she should bring her clothes as fast as possible. Ruhi chuckled at her childish behaviour as she shook her head; Felix really thinks she is stupid. Placing a spy by her side, she can clearly see that Maria is not a maid but a knight. Her hands have marks of a swordsman, her posture was too good even when she was looking down. Her eyes held experience in them, which she tired to hide with the sparkle.

Ruhi chuckled as she sat down near the window and glanced outside, seems like things are going to be fun.
