Ruhi frowned when she entered the guild, there was too much noise. She saw how woman wore extra short clothes which she has nothing against but it is very uncommon seeing how conservative these people are. And also, because some of the girls were very uncomfortable. The whole guide was filled with rowdy and extra loud men.

She was not able to distinguish if they were talking or shouting. Some men were feeling the serving girls up. Girls only clenched their fists and let them have their way while there were very few women who was sitting comfortably, even though these women too had a disgusted facial expression but they did nothing to help the girls being humiliated. Ruhi looked at the receptionist who was also a female, she was nervous as well. Man would pass comment on her body but did not cross the limit. She looked at Maria who now had poker face but her fist was clenched. 

Ruhi and Maria have entered the premises but they have not entered the main gate of the guild. Ruhi looked as a man got up and put up a girl swiftly on his shoulder, the girl shrieked but did not utter a single word after that as she allowed herself to be carried. The man carried the girl upstairs as his friends whistled at him. The girl just clenched the shoulder of the man as laughed at his friends and moved fast to get in the room.

Ruhi frowned, she never thought this will be the scene she will be greeted with. She knows she is not here to reform people nor is she here to be a hero and save the dismal in distress. But from the girl’s facial expression she does not want to have i*********e and she hates when men do not ask to consent.

She walked forward as she walked through the door with her boots clicking through the floor. Everyone stopped chatting even the man who was about to move to the room stopped and looked at her. There are not many women who wear heels especially commoners. Ruhi was wearing her boots, they are much more comfortable to deal with. Maria came out of her thoughts when Ruhi’s back obstructed the view of the guild. She looked back to confirm that it is Ruhi who is standing in front of her.

Every man looked at her from top to bottom and could not but lust for her. Ruhi have good body, she is not thin but she is not fat as well, she has right curve at right place. Her exotic colour made men want to taste something foreign. While men were lusting over her figure she moved towards the receptionist with a smile.

“I would like to sign up as a mercenary”; She said in a calm and soft voice making the receptionist look at her with wide eyes. Men laughed at her, the man let go of the girl who was on his shoulder as he lost the interest in her, he wanted this new girl. He came towards her and slide his hand on the counter. Ruhi saw the girl hurrying away as she turned to the man and raised her eyebrows.

“Little girl, you cannot just sign up. You would have to pass a test.”; He said looking at her lips. Ruhi licked her lips making the man smirk as he looked at her in the eyes. Ruhi titled her head innocently, her eyes held innocence making the man smirk thinking that she is not aware of the horror of this world. Let him take the role to teach her how much this world is unsafe for women.

“Really?”; She questioned as she noticed Maria coming inside the guild but no one paid her any attention.

“Yes, little girl.”; Ruhi looked at him with a small smile, the man was buffed up and was an inch or so taller than her.

“What do I have to do then?”; She asked in a soft voice making her appear more innocent and vulnerable as if she is very fragile and can be broken easily. Maria frowned at Ruhi’s behaviour; she is so reckless. Did she not see how cruel and brutal these men are? And here she is if she does not care about anything. She hates ignorant people and Ruhi is behaving like one, if Ruhi gets in danger she will not save her. She will reason Archduke how Ruhi herself became a danger to herself and as a knight of Archduke she cannot interfere much in the matters if Ruhi signs the contract. Which every girl is made to sign if they have to take the test.

“Well you will have to sign the contract.”; The man said as he looked at the receptionist who gave him the contract. He passed Ruhi the contract as he saw her reading, he smiled seeing how her expression turned sour. The contracted stated that she will have to defeat one of the male mercenaries, if she is able to, she will get to a position but if she is not able to; she will have to satisfy the males in the guild with her body.

Ruhi frowned this is a trap, they do not even give the option to go away. That means once you are here to become a mercenary you cannot go back even if they do not become the mercenary. Ruhi looked at the man who was smirking at her.

“Did you also had to sign this contract?”; She asked innocently making the man throw his head back and laugh his head out. He caught his breath as he looked back at her wiping his tears away, he has not laughed so hard in such a long time.

“No, little girl; only women have to because you know women are weak.”; Ruhi raised her eyebrows at him as she pouted. She looked back at the contract and handed it back to him making him confused.

“Did you not want to become a mercenary? Are you giving up just because you are afraid?”; The man said provoking her, he wants her to sign the contract because when she losses he will be the first one to taste her. Ruhi could read his intention through his face and she did not like it.

“I want to, but I am not satisfied with the conditions. If I have to give my body up when I loss then I also want a head of the man that if fight with as a souvenir if I win.”; She said innocently making Maria look at her with wide eyes. Every man who was chuckling at her stopped while the man who now had a contract looked at her with serious eyes. There was pin drop silence for few minutes before the man laughed out loud as well.

“Very well, then if that is what you want, it shall be added.”; He said as he asked the receptionist to make the change. He is sure that she will not win, she is so petite in front of him. Even though in she is not thin yet she is considered as a fragile girl seeing she does not have all the buffed-up muscles. Other men followed his laughter, they were not afraid of her at all. The receptionist brought the changed contract as Ruhi read it, the conditions were same, it just had another added condition whoever losses to her, gives her his head.

Maria frowned at Ruhi, she does not know why Ruhi added this condition, can’t she see how powerful they are, one can tell that just by looking. Ruhi smiled as she signed it without much delay, she handed the contract to the receptionist as the man smirked.

“So who are you going to fight, little girl?”; The man questioned as Ruhi gave him a wide smile.

“You”; She answered but this time all the innocence and the softness were gone. Her voice held a tone of darkness but this did not discourage the man who laughed at her. He is counted in the most powerful men here.

“Very well little girl, shall we fight.”; Ruhi smiled

“It won’t be a ‘fight’”; She replied with a kind smile.
