Chapter 4 - I don't understand

1180 Words
ZIA Over the next few days we spoke a lot. I now know I am on earth and I believe this is the place we ran from when my ancestors were faced with extinction.Which explains allot, but I have no idea how I got here other than perhaps there was an accidental rift that was created by someone. The Alpha has always been very nice to me so far, but I noticed more than trying to help me, he is interested in what powers I have. Obviously, I don't trust him, something just seems very off. I also don't like the way he looks at me. He doesn't look at me like the person I am, someone who was lost and needed a friend or an ally. He looks at me like I am property with lust and want and it makes me very uncomfortable. I feel like I have to be on guard constantly. I make sure every day that I use my powers to keep him calm. It's becoming taxing on me, but I just don't know what else to do. I am not going to tell him what I can do, because if something happens, I need to be able to surprise them enough to get away. I'm not exactly a captive, but I have been told I am not to leave the packhouse. He mostly keeps me up on the Alpha floor so that others can't see me. It's all making me nervous, but so far he has been kind enough to provide me with clothing, food and shelter. I miss my brothers so much and it's terribly lonely here by myself. I tried to speak with the birds the other day but they also seemed unable to communicate with me. However, they did seem to understand me. What a strange world. It's so out of touch with nature and the living things around them. I get pulled from my thoughts by a knock on my door before it swings open without me even saying it was ok, again proving my point that I am seen as property and not a person. "Alpha Powel has requested your presence in his office." Nodding at the man who was sent to get me, I stood up and approached the door to walk out and head to his office, which is also on this floor. I don't know anyone's names. They have never told me, but I assume this man is his second because he is the one who always seems to be around. I knocked on the Alpha's office door and waited for him to tell me it was ok to enter. After a few moments, the door swung open and a young woman practically ran out looking like she was scared. As I watched her go, I got the distinct feeling I was going to need to run from here and soon. "Alpha Powel you requested me?" "Yes please come in. Beta Dixon, you can step in as well." I walked into the large office. There was a beautiful window behind him that looked out over the forest and a large heavy dark wood desk with book shelves on either side. He has three chairs in front of the desk and a couch off to the side near the door. When, who I now know is Dixon, shut the door, I heard a click, and suddenly I realized he had locked the door behind us. This can't be good at all. Perhaps I shouldn't have waited to run from here. "Why have you locked the door? I do not understand what's going on here?" "Come sit I have some things to ask you and then we can decide what will happen." Knowing I didn't have much choice, I started to use my calming magic, hoping it would help me enough to get out of here without resorting to violence. Taking a seat in front of the desk, I looked to see Dixon standing by the door. I really hope he doesn't think he can stop me if I really want to leave here. "What would you like to discuss Alpha bowel?" I said, keeping my face like stone and my eyes as cold as possible. "Well, Zia, I would like you to become my chosen mate. You are lost in a world you don't know and I have already been graciously taking care of you and asking nothing in return. It is obvious you are powerful. The two of us together could rule the werewolf world." I raised my eyebrows so high I think they must have disappeared into my hairline. He can't think I would accept this. There is NO way I would ever do anything like that. "Alpha Powel, I do appreciate your hospitality, but rather than become the mate to someone I hardly know, I would rather take my leave." "And just where do you think you would go with no one to feed and cloth you. Together we could be a force to be reckoned with." "No, I am sorry, Alpha Powel I would rather not." "Well girl," he said as he stood, "You won't be leaving and you will be my chosen mate. You will get used to it." Standing to meet the Alpha head on, I heard Dixon come up behind me. Fliping my finger in his direction, he flew back and smacked into the door, knocking him out almost instantly. What I was not counting on was that, while I was distracted, Powel could move as fast as he did. He grabbed my wrist and slapped some sort of bracelet on me. When I tried to call the winds to push him away, nothing worked. In shock, I stood there wide-eyed as he smirked at me. "What have you done to me!!! I will never marry you. Let me go!" "After research and speaking with a few witches I know I had this jewelry made just for you. It makes it so you can't use any powers. I have given you a chance for a good life. Now you will be the packhouse slave princess ... let's see if you change your mind after a few days in the dungeon." "What?? You can't do this to me. I havent done anything....I will NEVER marry you and I WILL NOT EVER help you!!" "Oh I think after some time in the dungeons and then perhaps, as the pack slave, your tune will change and you will want to marry me gladly ... princess." He says as he sneers at me. "You piece of s**t!!!! NEVER!!" I watched his cool demeanor turn into rage. "YOU WILL NOT DISRESPECT ME11 YOU WILL LEARN YOUR PLACE!!" The last thing I saw was his hand coming towards my face and I felt the pain of it slamming into my face and then nothing but black until I awoke cold and alone in the dungeon. What am I going to do now and why has he done this? No wonder we left this world for another.
