I arrived at a sunlit beach, the ocean sparkling under the clear sky, and walked across the pristine white sand. The sound of the waves was calming, but my mind was elsewhere. I extended my magical senses to detect any presence, and soon, I noticed the water’s surface shifting. A figure with spiky hair emerged from the ocean, and I quickly wrapped a light jacket around myself, crossing my arms as I observed several others of his kind remaining submerged in the water. “Greetings, your highness,” I called out in an ancient seafaring language, and he responded with a grin. “You know who I am,” he said. I nodded and mentioned that Rex had told me about him. “How do you know that language? It’s a dead one,” he asked. I explained that I was familiar with many languages, possibly more than Rex.
