The Kingdom of Dragons also known as The Dragon Realm
The Queen of Dragons looked out of her chamber, her chamber made of gold.
Red Gold, the rarest gold worshiped by the Dragon. Women out there died to be in her place but the Queen of Dragons could do anything to get out of here.
This royal chamber of the King of Dragons was just a golden cage for her. A cage she could even die to be freed of.
She gazed outside, the green land outside shined under the rays of the sun. A breathtaking sight. The Dragon Realm's beauty was just a disguise to hide the cruelty women endure in it.
The Dragon Realm was beautiful from outside but filthy from inside~
The Queen was blessed with two sons. They said that a woman was always a mother before she could be anything else but the Queen of Dragons was just a woman whose soulmate had been murdered in front of her eyes.
She wanted to love her sons but how could she love them without remembering that they had the essence of the man who had killed the man she had loved.
How could she gaze at them with love and not remember how that monster had forced himself upon her. Her sons were the result of the cruelty that man had shown her.
The Queen stiffened when she felt the touch of the King of Dragons. She held her breath as her skin crawled under his touch.
She felt dirty~
How long was she going to endure this torture? How much longer was she going to stand against the grief that was eating her alive, bringing her to the brink of madness?
“Why can’t you stop thinking about him, my Queen?” The King's sinister voice boomed in the empty chamber.
“Why can’t you stop thinking about him? I have given you everything a woman could want! What else do you want!?" He probably must have read her mind again.
The Queen didn’t even flinch when the King punched the wall beside her, shaking the whole structure of the royal chamber.
The King~ A being with power beyond comprehension, a being who could hollow your bones with his single breath.
“You have murdered what I have wanted." The Queen whispered as she walked away from the King, dismissing him.
The King of Dragons breathed in rage, his vision turned red. Holding the Queen from the back of her neck he made her turn back and look into his eyes. ”Don’t forget that you are my Queen, the mother of my children. Bringing my dead brother again in front of me will cost you your life.”
The Queen smiled sadly as she gazed into the King's ebony eyes. ”I was dead the day you killed him. And I was buried alive the day you forced yourself on me, your brother’s bride. I’m not afraid of death your highness. I’m anticipating it. It's my escape from this miserable eternal life.” Her eyes shined with resentment and tears of frustration. The frustration of being powerless.
“You weren’t only his bride! You were my bride too. I wasn’t at fault, fate was at fault for giving me and my twin brother the same bride. You should have chosen me not my twin brother. I was the King! He was the sword of the kingdom. You should have chosen me!!" The King pulled at his own hair in rage, pushing her away.
"You made a mockery out of me. Everyone talked about why I wasn't enough! Why my bride chose my brother instead of me. . . They thought I was weak and pathetic. But look now no one talks. They don't even remember him. No one remembers him." King babbled like a maniac.
"You are wrong. I remember him. . . He is alive in here." The Queen tapped her hand over her heart as she fell on the floor. A heart-wrenching sob escaped from her lips. "I remember him! He lives in my heart!" She yelled.
“Every moment I spend in your presence it makes me realize how right my decision was to choose him over you. He was your twin but he was not a power-hungry animal like you with a tainted soul.” Tears streamed from her eyes as she remembered the man she had loved with her soul.
The man who was the sword of the kingdom but he used to hold her with such tenderness in his arms that sometimes the Queen could still feel his arms around her. Her heart bled in his memories.
“Every night you force yourself on me, I die a thousand deaths. I’m no Queen, I’m no mother, I’m just a woman who isn’t even treated as a human in this cage of gold.” The Queen cried as she clawed at her own neck. Her voice got louder with the depth of her emotions.
"Every time I see those kids they make me remember how you have f****d me with the presence of your brother’s corpse in the same room, how his lifeless eyes had stared at me. How I have begged you to stop. . .” The Queen wailed in agony as she banged her fist over her heart to stop the pain that was clawing at her soul.
When the King took a step in her direction the Queen crawled away from him. “Don’t touch me! Your touch disgusts me!”
The Queen started clawing at her own skin. ”Look how dirty you have made me!” She sobbed.
Dropping her face in her hands the Queen of Dragons cried in agony.
A broken woman~
Lightning cracked outside, startling the King.
In the middle of summer dark clouds gathered outside as it started to rain.
Just within a few minutes the afternoon's blazing sun was gone, replaced by utter darkness in the sky. The sky cried along with the Broken Queen of Dragons.
Suddenly standing on her foot again the Queen of Dragons set her scorching gaze on the King.
“I’m sick of this place. I’m sick of this Golden cage and kingdom where women are treated as war trophies to sate your damn egos!” The Queen shouted. Lightning struck behind her, punching her words.
The only light coming in the chamber was from the flash of lightning from the balcony behind the Queen or the candles that were illuminating the chamber.
“I’m the Queen of this kingdom and look at how my body is being used by a man like I’m nothing but a whore." The Queen took a threatening step towards the King. The look he witnessed on the Queen's face made the King took a step back from her.
“Maybe a kingdom where women are treated like this should be a place where women shouldn’t exist. This kingdom and race who can’t keep their woman safe and happy should be a kingdom where women shouldn’t be born.” Thunder boomed outside but the Queen's words were loud and clear.
The lightning striking outside seemed like it was the last nail in the Dragon Realm's coffin.
The King's hands trembled. The hands that didn’t even tremble when he murdered his own brother were trembling now.
The King could feel a wave of strong aura hitting the kingdom as if indicating upcoming havoc.
The two teenage twin brothers who were holding hands as they took in the scene unfolding in their parent's chamber shook violently. They could feel the sudden coldness and air of misery surrounding the kingdom.
They saw as their mother, the Queen fell on the floor in an unconscious state and their father the King was standing shell shocked staring out of the balcony. The King watched in horror as lava exploded from the land outside the castle. The tropical lush green land burned as molten lava engulfed it, spreading like a flood.
At that time neither the King nor the two princes would have thought that their mother's grief sickens words could bring a whole kingdom on their knees. That day the Kingdom of Dragon's downfall started with the demise of the first female dragon in the kingdom.
The start of an inevitable doom.
The start of the Drakaina curse~
The Queen was not a witch, she didn’t have the ability to curse anyone but they say that the cries of a heartbroken woman can even shake the skies. Today her words were going to bring irreversible damage to the Kingdom of Dragons.
The Queen had endured unbearable sorrows, she had seen cruelty in its worse form.
Now it was the kingdom's turn, the dragon’s turn who had turned a blind eye on the cruelty that had been happening with their Queen, the former bride of the sword of the kingdom, the King's twin brother.
It was said that if a person stays silent at injustice then he was equally responsible as the unjust.
Now it was time for the kingdom to pay the price of staying silent. The Drakaina curse was the punishment brought upon them from the skies that had been shaken by the wailing heart of the Queen of Dragons.
