'A Cursed Being Can't Release A Whole Kingdom From A Curse.' Ines gazed at the 'Fountain Of Spirits.' The 'Fountain of Spirits' looked like a normal waterfall from the outside but it was the door to the Kingdom of Dragons. All her life Ines had avoided coming to this place but now fate had bought her to the same place she had been running away from Nature knows for how long. For centuries Ines had been running away from her soulmate and now she was standing at the door of his Kingdom to seek help. She was here to seek the help of a man who had always looked for love in her. The man who wanted to build a family with a mad being like her. The man who had the power to bought her back from the brink of madness. . . Aidan Draco~ Her Dragon King. . . He was a perfect man. A safe place for her. He was the person she had found her home in but it was such a shame that she wasn’t what he needed. He wanted something she was unable to give him~ Running away from him was better than seeing the disappointment on his face. Ines fists clenched, she will never be enough for him or his people. She will always be the woman who wasn't enough for anyone. A broken being with darkness residing inside her soul~ Broken beyond repair. Shaking off her thoughts Ines entered the 'Fountain of Spirits' and as expected she was bought to a place between life and death. Ines closed her eyes as she inhaled the deep musky scent of death mixed with the fresh air of a forest after the rain. A perfect blend of life and death. . . The scent calmed her wrecking nerves. . . “What bought you here my dear?” Ines opened her eyes as she turned around to face the owner of the voice. Her eyes fell on a woman dressed in a bloodstained strapless white gown, her hair was perfectly styled in an elegant bun. Ines's eyes flickered to the legendary lost crown of the Dragon Queen made of Red Gold and infinity stones that was set on the woman's head. Ines had a hard time keeping her eyes off her. “What bought you here, my dear?” The woman asked again. What a beauty she was~ Ines couldn’t help herself as she stared at the woman’s soul while walking around her like a predator. It wasn't every day Ines encounter a Lost Soul bound to the living world by a curse. “I could ask you the same. What had bound you to this fountain? An unfulfilled wish?“ Ines asked as she stood in front of the Lost Soul. ”A brutal death?” Ines took a step forward. She smirked when the Lost Soul took a step away from her. “Or a wish that had destroyed a whole kingdom?” Ines watched as the Lost Soul's yellow gaze went wild. Lost souls were the souls that were bound to the living world. They were unable to rest at peace because their souls were chained by unfulfilled desires, brutal deaths, vengeance, or anything that was strong enough to bound them to the living world. They were trapped between life and death. And the Lost Soul standing in front of Ines in astonishment was none other than her late mother-in-law. Her soulmate's mother. The late Queen of Dragons who had cursed the whole kingdom. She was the sole reason why Ines can’t have her happily ever after. “Who are you?” The late Dragon Queen asked in a whisper. “Someone you had a hand in destroying the life of.“ Ines answered in a calm tone. “Who are you?” The Queen asked again but this time in a booming voice. “Why can’t I see your past?" The late Queen frowned. Lost Souls had an ability to know someone’s deepest fears by looking into their past but it doesn’t work on Ines. Ines was an Oracle and no being was strong enough to withstand the secrets she was carrying within her soul. “I wish I could have a heart to heart discussion with you, mother-in-law but I need to be chasing someone. We can finish this some other time.” Ines mumbled in a dismissive tone but before she could turn to leave the late Queen’s words halted her. “You are Aidan’s bride? The Rightful Queen of Dragons?“ The Queen took a step towards Ines. ”You are the one to break the curse. I should have recognized you. It’s been centuries since I have been waiting for you, my dear.” Ines watched as tears of relief escaped from the late Queen’s eyes. Her words once again refreshed the memories Ines had buried deep inside her heart. The memories of leaving behind the man she loved. “You got the wrong person. A cursed being can’t release a whole race from a curse.” Ines whispered almost to herself but the Queen heard her every word. Taking her crown off the late Queen offered it to Ines. "Here, it belongs to you." The desperation was evident in the late Queen's eyes. "You need a deserving head for that crown. Here's a tip for future, don't offer it to beings you know nothing about." Ines couldn't keep the anger out of her tone. “You are destined to release my kind from the punishment I have implemented on them. This crown is your destiny." When the Queen tried to reach out for her Ines shot her a glare while stepping back. “Then destiny must be playing a sick and twisted game with you because I'm not the woman you are looking for.” Ines snarled. Turning her back on the Queen before Ines could step out of the Fountain of Spirits she felt the late Queen locking a chain around her neck with an uncanny speed. Ines didn't even bother to stop her. The moment she stepped out of the Fountain Ines fell on her knees and a heart-wrenching sob escaped from her lips. How long was fate going to make her feel like a disappointment? How long were people going to expect things from her that she was unable to do? Couldn’t they see how much their expectations were hurting her? How her heart ached every time she thought about their words~ “Are you fine, lady?” A voice called but Ines paid him no heed. She just let her tears flow, she wished this pain will flow out of heart too. The pain that had started to suffocate her. “Are you okay, lady?” The voice asked again. Another sob escaped from Ines’s lips. It’s been so long since the last time someone had called her lady. She had become so used to people calling her Mad Oracle that she almost forgot her own name. "Just rub some dirt on my wounds and I'll be fine.” Ines answered the man without looking at him. “My lady, I can’t see any wounds on your body.” The man mumbled in confusion. “They are here.” Ines rubbed her hand over her bleeding heart in agony as her small frame shook with silent sobs. Marek looked at the woman who was crying her heart out at the door of the Dragon Realm. He had never seen her before and he had no idea how she had managed to pass the Fountain of Spirits on her own. The Fountain of Spirits was the mystical protection of the Dragon Realm. You can't enter the Dragon Realm if the fountain didn't let you or if you are brought to the Kingdom against your will. When Marek's gaze fell on the pendant that was dangling from the woman's neck he sucked in a breath. Dear Gold! That was his late mother's pendant with a black fire dragon dangling from it. The black fire Dragon that was a replica of Aidan’s Dragon form~ Who was this woman and how did she get her hands on that pendant? When the female gazed up at him her tear-filled eyes softened. Getting up from her knees she reached out to touch his jaw but Marek took a step away from her. “You look just like him.” Where her last words before she lost consciousness. Before she could hit the ground Marek picked her up in bridal style. After all, he was a gentleman and it was against his manners to leave a woman out here. But the moment he heard the remark of his twin sons he instantly regretted his decision. “Father is cheating on mom.." Xavier whispered yelled at Dominic. "I bet mom is going to beat father’s ass." Dominic whispered back with glee. Before Marek could clear out the misunderstanding his evil sons were long gone. Shit! He was royally f****d.
