"Are you sure this will work?" Ella asked as Fayra finished up braiding her hair. "No but if you wish to save your sister it is the only other option" Fayra replied. "So how do we do this then?" Ella asked. All we need do is walk in. I'll stay hidden in the back while you try to convince your sister to leave. I'll only reveal myself if absolutely necessary" fayra told her. "O-OK," Ella replied. "How long will it take us to get to the capital?" Fayra asked turning to Ian. "Half a day your highness" he replied. "Then let us leave now" , Fayra said as she got on her horse. "Wait..." Ella said, staring up at Fayra. "Why are you doing this?" She asked. "We are but only Commoners yet you are willing to reveal yourself alive and ruin your rebellion plan just to save my sister?" Ella questioned. Fayra looked down at her. Her eyes cold yet understanding. "Because I do not wish to make another suffer as I have" she said. Fayra pulled the sleeve of her shoulder slightly down her arm. "Before I was thrown off the cliff to be sacrifice I was held down and branded with this mark" she said then pulled her sleeve back up. "Moments later I had my day of death burned into my skin and as I pleaded foe my life I was pushed off the cliff by the man I had married only hours prior" she explained. "If I can prevent another from going through that I will" Fayra added. "Now hurry and get on your horse we have no more time to waste" Fayra commanded and all gave her a nod. Half a day later night had come. "We're too late," Ella said. "the wedding had already passed," she added. "Come I know where they are" fayra said as her horse began to gallop along a familiar path. Armaros flew beside her. She refused to let another girl through that torture. Soon they had made it to the carriage that was sitting atop the cliff. "LET GO OF ME" she heard a girl yell. "I suggest you let her go Priest," Fayra said as her horse game to a halt in front of the group. Everyone looked at her as she jumped off her horse. "Fayra" Elijah said as Armaros landed on her shoulder and let out a growl. "As you can see your sacrifice failed," Fayra said, ignoring Elijah. "There is no need to sacrifice anymore innovative people" she added. "The dragon..." said the king. "But how?" He Questioned as he took a step towards her. "Armaros" Fayra said and he let out a breath of fire force the king to fall to his but. Fayra looked towards Kyra who was still being held down. She hadn't been branded yet. "Ian, Ella get kyra" Fayra commanded. "Yes princess" they Said at the same time. "YOU CAN'T," the queen yelled. Forcing Fayra to look at her. "I believe there is some misunderstanding here," Fayra said. "I never gave you a choice," she added. "You think just because you survived the Fall you are something you are the cursed princess, the one meant to destroy her kingdom you have no home to go back to that will help you" the queen said. "A princess born with hair as dark as night, betrayed by those she thought as light, creates destruction of what should have been hers, as revenge for the suffering she had to endure" fayra stated. "Those words were embedded in my mind since I was young," she said. "I don't need help to destroy you" fayra added. "Just know this..." she said. "One day I will take everything you cherish most and you will finally regret the choices you have made," Fayra told them. "But until then" fayra said, looking at the priest. "Armaros," she Said the dragon's name. Almost as if he read her mind he let out another breath of fire this time on the priest and watched him as he screamed and quickly burned to death. "Today is just a warning criss the line again and it will be more than just him burned" she said before turning and walking back to her horse. "Let us return," Fayra said. "FAYRA" Elijah yelled. "Please wait let me explain. "I do not wish to hear a single word from you Elijah" she told him. "Whether you wish it or not I am still alive" she added as she turned her horse around. "And weather you wish it or not you are still my wife" he said causing her to freeze. He was right she may have thrown away her ring but legally they were still husband and wife. "Being your wife didn't stop you from throwing me off a cliff, being my husband won't stop you from burning alive" she told him. "Fayra please all I ask is for a chance to explain" he pleaded. "YOU THREW ME OFF A CLIFF" Fayra yelled. "YOU WERE ABOUT TO THROW HER OFF A CLIFF AND WHO KNOWS HOW MANY OTHERS DIED FOR YOUR SO CALLED PROSPERITY" she continued to yell. "You and your family are more monsters than the dragon that sits on my shoulder" she told him "and I swear upon my own name that the day will come that you pay for your sins" she told him. "The only reason I let you live today is because it's not yet a good time to kill you" she added. "You can't kill me you don't have it in you" he said. "I just had Armaros burn the man who branded me and burnt my day of death into my skin, alive and he was a priest" she told him. "Do you truly think I can't do the name thing to the man who pushed me off a cliff?" She asked him making him take a step back. "You are truly nothing," she said, turning around again. "Take the time you have to prepare because you won't even know it when I strike you down" she said before galloping away. TO BE CONTINUED
