As the days moved forward and I became more settled into my feelings about Tyler, I knew that the only thing left to do in order to really have this take off was to have Aubrey spend a longer amount of time with him. If she could just hang out with him a few more times and really take her chance on understanding him as a person, rather than a social media presence, I was confident she'd like him as much as I did.
To not have her blessing—well, I'm not sure how I'd navigate it. It would either mean losing my only and closest friend, or Tyler and I wasn't prepared to give up either. But that wasn't something I could focus on. I needed to stop letting my thoughts create false realities for me and give my attention to what was important, which was what was happening right here and now.
