Chapter Four
Later that evening, the large group relaxed in the cavern far below the palace. The cavern had been transformed into a magical world. Three times a year – Easter, Halloween, and Christmas – Cara and a large group of volunteers would change the attractions to reflect the new Earth holidays that Cara and the other woman had introduced to the people of Valdier. This year, Cara added to the ‘Haunted House’ effect to include several new rides, including the new Tunnel of Horror and the Castle of the Demented Symbiots.
“Look! Ha’ven and Emma made it!” Abby exclaimed with a smile.
“Bálint!” Alice squealed when she saw the purple and gold dragonling. “I see Bálint, Momma!”
“I know you do, sweetheart,” Emma laughed and then gasped when Alice disappeared out of her arms. “Alice!”
