"Well, I guess that means this talk is pretty much over..." Victor said with a nervous laugh as his eyes trailed after the werewolf prince and the huntress when they stepped out of the room.
Alpha Henry snorted softly before grinning at his wife who was also looking in that direction with amusement. "Can you believe it? The future king and the great Moon Spirit...mates!"
"I believe we can count with her assistance on this whole Scarlet Rogues issue given the circumstances," the visitor alpha voiced out with a distracted sigh. "Since she's our future queen it's her duty to help keep our people safe."
Alyssa and Logan who had watched as their older brother walked out of the room with smirks on their faces suddenly turned their attention back to the other alpha with concern. The two exchanged a look;
Maybe not rushing into this would be best, Alyssa said through their mind link. It's true I have only spent one day around that woman, but I can say with certainty she possesses a very strong personality and sense of freedom.
I worry she might not have the opportunity to decide if she wants to help or not, Ally. Logan replied with a discreet tilt of his head. I don't think Nash would be able to survive a rejection at this point. You know he was already growing weaker without his mate. And if she stays by his side this will be her fight she like it or not.
Alyssa's eyes flickered in the way her brother and his mate had gone with a bit of uncertainty. But still... She shouldn't have to be forced to do things she doesn't want to.
Logan's attention was brought away from his and his sister's conversation when the boy sitting by his side wrapped his hand around his softly.
I can feel you're worried, the blond informed him with a longing look. What's wrong?
Logan's concern instantly melted away just by the simple touch of his mate's hand and he found his lips curling up into a soft smile as he stared Leo in the eyes.
"Why are you so beautiful?" He questioned with a legit troubled expression. "I fear people might try to take you away-"
"Ugh..." Alyssa groaned and rolled her eyes. "Get. A. Room."
Leo glanced at her with a nervous smile as he tried to hide his embarrassment.
That was unnecessary, the blond complained through their mind link. And you know it.
Logan's only response was getting to his feet and pulling him with. "Well, since this meeting is over I'll just go spend some time with the man of my life."
Everyone in the room was either engrossed on their own conversations or staring into empty space - that one being only Joshua's daughter. But the prince's soft spoken and playful tone caught their attention and they stared at the two with amused eyes.
Alpha Joshua's daughter struggled with keeping a soft growl from escaping. She really hoped Leo would be her mate. But as it turned out she had no such luck.
"Sure, sure" Victor mumbled with a teasing look aimed at the young future alpha. "Just don't be too loud."
Logan started making his way toward the door, guiding Leo by the small of his back. And if embarrassment could kill Leo was sure he would've just dropped to the floor right there.
I hate you, he spat angrily but even his inner voice wavered.
No you don't, Logan replied and placed a quick kiss on the back of his neck. Now show me the way. Unless you'd like me to take you right here? I'm getting angry you don't have my mark yet.
"We can still hear you, you know?" Alyssa yelled from inside the room.
Leo turned to Logan with a glare, but the prince simply smiled and leaned in to give him a quick peck on the lips. Meanwhile everyone back in the room was laughing at another one of Victor's comments.
In the end all it took was for Logan to run his hand over Leo's hair for the future alpha's anger to cease.
He let out a soft sigh. "I hate that I can't stay mad at you."
"Hm," Logan wrapped his arms around the smaller male and pressed his lips over his head. "I don't. It means I can get on your nerves all I want and you'll still love me."

"Please," Nash asked for the third time. He was literally making a puppy face and Danielle was finding it hard to keep saying no. Even if his request was sky high absurd. "I'm not going to do anything to you. I'm not even going to touch you if you won't allow me..." He made a strange face as those words left his mouth before continuing. "It's just...your skin is gleaming with whatever was it you put on it, Danielle. And you smell like wet dirt. That's not your scent, I can tell."
The huntress felt a shiver run down her spine when her name rolled off lips. Nash had a strong, yet soft voice. And his accent... Dear god, his accent.
It was clear on every trace of his face, on every curve of his muscular body and even in the calmest tone of his voice that he was indeed an alpha; the future king none the less.
Despite already knowing what that pull she felt towards him meant, Danielle didn't really feel comfortable having that kind of feeling towards a complete stranger. The voice in her head kept saying it was okay; that he could be trusted. But she was always very careful after losing the ones she loved. It would take some time getting used to this new situation.
"Why is everything happening so fast all of a sudden?" She asked while looking away from her mate.
The question wasn't directed at him. And Nash could tell.
"To me things have been happening at a painfully slow pace," he said and leaned against the kitchen island.
Danielle didn't really know her way around the house, so she just walked into the first room available so they could have some privacy. So that's where they were now.
She was standing closer to one of the counters with her arms crossed over her chest in a classic self-protective posture.
In all honesty the way she constantly averted her eyes away from his made Nash feel a bit hurt. But he was understanding enough to think about how overwhelming it could be to learn you're mated to a werewolf - specially one in his position - if you weren't a supernatural. In all honesty even he felt a bit insecure about the whole thing. As the future king he expected a strong mate, which Danielle obviously were. But at the end of the day she was still only human.
'You understand that does not matter, don't you?' his wolf cut his thoughts short.
Yes, he answered without looking away from her form. She was staring out the window, to the cloudy sky. She looked beautiful. From the messy, curly hair. To her tapping bare foot. It's just... She looks frail to the touch. No offense, but you're not exactly kind when I lose hold of you.
Nash frowned slightly at the amused sound his wolf made. And even more at his following words:
'She can take it,' there was a sound resembling a soft purr. 'That I can assure you.'
"What's that face for?" Danielle mumbled and snapped him out of his inner conversation. "I already said it's fine. So let's just do it before I change my mind."

"Do you think those two are okay?" Alyssa asked in a low voice when they walked by the kitchen's entrance on the way to the room Luna Marlene offered her. To say Aiden was unhappy about that would be an understatement. The warrior didn't really like the idea of his mate sleeping anywhere that wasn't with him, but his Luna insisted. He had to comply. At least for now.
"I'm sure they're getting along just fine," he replied with a soft tug on her hand. "They're bonded. That means they're the most compatible partner to each other."
"You know sometimes that doesn't mean much..." Alyssa gave her mate a concerned look. "If the bond really couldn't be fought then rogues wouldn't even exist."
Aiden sighed and stopped walking before turning to the young princess with a relaxed gaze. "Why are you so worried? That woman agreed on talking to him on her own. She knows better than anyone the consequences of rejecting a mate."
"Still-"
"In the time you spent with her couldn't you tell she's a kind person?" Aiden interrupted her. Alyssa only nodded as response. "I haven't known Danielle for much longer than you do, Alyssa. But I can tell she's not someone cruel enough to leave their mate to wither and die or turn insane."
"How do you know that?" Alyssa questioned with a seriousness in her eyes that Aiden hadn't seen before.
She looks so f*****g powerful with those eyes, he thought quietly.
'Well, she's mated to a powerful warrior' his wolf replied.
"I know it because she came back today." Aiden decided to turn his eyes away before he lost control of his urges. It was always hard for werewolves to hold themselves back after they met their mate - the burning pull they felt usually lasted for about three days.
"What does that have to do with anything?" Alyssa sounded unsure of his reasoning.
Even the sound of her voice was starting to get to him.
"When we first met, Danielle helped us save Leo. And when I realized she was what everyone called the Moon Spirit I just wanted to bring her here for questioning." Aiden felt a bit uncomfortable talking about one of his least proud moments. "When she ran I couldn't think of anything friendlier than chasing her through the woods and then have some of my men knock her out so we could bring her to our alpha. And when she woke up she was angry. And when alpha Henry let her go I was certain she wasn't going to come back because she simply didn't have the obligation to. But she did."
Alyssa snorted in amusement. "She didn't kill me when I trespassed into her house either. In fact she assessed the reason why I was even there before taking any actions against me."
Aiden nodded once in acknowledgement. "See what I mean?"
The princess sighed deeply but nodded. "I do. I guess you're right. Maybe I'm worrying too much."
"Now come on, if I don't leave you in your room and go out for a run I might do something I'll regret..." the warrior said with a smug smirk on his face while sizing his mate up and down with a meaningful look.
Alyssa just smirked back at him with a c****d brow. "I wonder what would be capable of making you regret your actions. You've always been so level headed, Aiden."
"Yeah, but that was before all of this." He shook their intertwined hands in front of her face and leaned in to steal a kiss while she was distracted by the gesture. "Now I'm afraid I'm just following my instincts. Which is... bad."
It was Alyssa's turn to steal a kiss. She leaned forward on the tip of her toes and pressed her lips against his. Biting his bottom lip softly. "Following your instincts is not always bad, you know? It's what got me here."
The two stared into each other's eyes for a moment. With smiles on their faces.
But the peaceful, warm moment was ruined by the sound of glass shattering and a muffled moan.
Alyssa and Aiden looked up at the ceiling where the chandelier was swinging softly.
"Who said you could hold your voice?" Logan's alpha tone was clear. Leo's voice rehearsed a whimper. "What? You want me to tie your hands so you can cover that beautiful mouth of yours?"
"I guess Logan is giving Leo a bit of a hard time," Alyssa chuckled and glanced at her own mate.
Aiden's face was a bit red when he turned to face her, but the she wolf wasn't sure if it was from embarrassment or excitement. By his scent it could be a bit of both.
"Wanna get out of here?" He asked awkwardly.
"I'll be right behind you," she winked.
