Amit's POV: My hands go to the lid of the casket again, but I can't bring myself to close it. To do so was to shut the door on Nichole. I wasn't ready to do that yet. Instead I turn away from her and walk out of the warehouse, wishing I could feel the cool air of the night, wishing I could feel the heat of Nichole, wishing I could feel something besides pain.  My legs lead me towards the lake. I never realized how beautiful it was at night. The moon shone on the waves, making them flicker with a pale light and then roll into their dark blackness once more. I saw the trees gently sway to the wind and I saw the stars shine with such an indignant light you wondered how they ever disappeared from your sight.  I took a deep breath and inhaled the air, the clean, fresh air.
