Prologue

"If you want to be protected, follow everything I'll say. Don't be such a brat."

Napanganga ito habang nakatingin sa'kin nang matalim. Napakunot ako nang noo. What?

Pinaningkitan n'ya ako ng mata, na ikinataas lang nang isa kong kilay.

"I'll forgive you for saying I'm a brat because I'm glad to hear you said a long sentence to me. But I'm not a brat and you know that."

Tsk! What's the big deal? The hell I care anyway.

"Tsk. I'll don't care, just follow what I'll say. For now, you're staying at my house here in the city and I'll stay with you in Rancho Velasquez when we are on the island. It's going to be our routine until we capture those syndicates that after you. Understand."

She shrug.

She immediately distances herself before I can think of some comeback. My body stayed still and my heartbeats quicken.

Damn! What's wrong with my heart?

"Heaven Louise Velasquez stop saying words you might regret," I uttered lamely in an angry voice while trying to control my sudden feeling.

She just laughs and winks. This woman really knows how to play the game of men. She got the reaction that wants from me... I don't like it.

"Awww I'm scared. Am I?" She grin. "Nah ah! Let me know if you feel it too."

She walks towards me again, I clenched my fist to stop myself to reach out for her. She stares into my eyes, trying to read my emotion inside but I keep them lock and remain impassive. I tried to read hers, unfortunately, they are impassive too. I'm not surprised, she mastered that well. Suddenly she tip-toe in front of me then peck a kiss on my lips. My eyes widen.

It caught me off-guard. I never expected that...again! Lalong hindi ako nakagalaw sa pwesto ko at tinitigan ko lang s'ya. She steps back and walks towards the door, akala ko tuloy-tuloy na ngunit lumingon ito sa'kin... she winks with a teasing smile on her face then leaves, closing the door behind her.

Double s**t! This is not good! Not good at all!

Given that she likes to date most of the men who were interested in her, yet it takes only one date and Heaven will disapprove of him. One particular event in Italy changed her life, it happened last February when she joined the Milan Fashion Week. She gained an obsession and dangerous stalker in her life. Kalaunan naging magarbo na ang mga regalong kanyang pinapadala kay Heaven, ipagtataka ng lahat kung bakit alam nito kung saan s'ya palagi. Iisa lang din ang pinanggalingan at nilalaman ng sulat, isang pangako na darating ang araw na mapasa-kanya si Heaven.

Doon na natakot si Heaven sa kanyang banta at pinahigpitan ang kanyang mga bodyguard kay Miguel. Si Miguel lang ang nakakaalam tungkol sa kanyang sitwasyon. Hindi n'ya pinaalam sa kanyang pamilya ang mga natanggap n'yang banta galing sa lalaki dahil ayaw n'ya mag-alala ang mga ito. Isang aksidente ang tuluyang nagpatibay nang desisyon ni Heaven na humingi nang tulong kay Miguel sa paglutas nang misteryo sa katauhan ng lalaki.

The accident has happened to her date after they leave in the restaurant separately. Tinambangan s'ya sa kalye ng di kilalang mga tao at binugbog. They thought it was a random ambush until Heaven received a gift again and a message that the next time she goes out with someone, he will put a bullet in his head. Hindi man magkasundo ang dalawa sa ibang bagay pero pagdating sa proteksyon, si Miguel lang ang maaring asahan ni Heaven na makapagprotekta sa kanya. Hindi man aminin ng dalawa, everyone can feel the s****l tension that palpable around them. Only a matter of time when one of them gives up on their stubborn state and accepts defeat.

And what they don't know, this situation was more than just an obsessed and dangerous stalker-like they think of. Before they know it, Heaven is already caught by the web of dangerous dance in the underground world... the Mafias.
