I can't believe this is what my life have amounted to. This isn't the future I had in mind all my life, never the future I envisioned for myself.
I've always seen myself as the Alpha, a person worthy to rule over the pack, and not as someone who doesn't have any rank in the pack.
Being an Alpha was like a dream come true, until it was dashed to pieces by someone who just woke up one day only to decide he wants to take over a pack he didn't work for.
Someone who's not worthy to be the Alpha just came in, and stole my position from right under me while I looked on without doing anything about it.
Changing into another shirt, I decide to go ahead and answer the call of the new Alpha.
After all, should I not do so, I might end up getting punished as it'll be seen as a mark of disobedience to the Alpha if am to refuse his call.
Leaving my room behind, I walk straight to my study as I already know the way
The new Alpha didn't change anything in my room. Nothing was changed or moved, aside from his presence in my room, and mine in the visitor's room, there are no physical changes.
I took a very deep, steady breath before I opened the door. I didn't bother on knocking, since I don't see anything significant in knocking.
To me, it seems knocking on the door is a waste of precious time, one that should be used for something significant.
The Alpha and his Beta are the only ones in the room, with the Alpha sitting on my desk chair while his Beta sat opposite him.
The look the Beta gave me is enough to freeze a feeble man to his bone, but as an Alpha, the look is like one a child gives to an elder.
“Good day Alpha.” I bow at him, with mouth curved like someone who shares a juicy secret, I gave them a dark look.
“And you decided to answer the call.” The Beta gives me a very dark look, one as scorching as an Inferno.
“It is….”
“Leave us.” The Alpha commands. His words making the Beta and I look up in surprise.
“Pardon?” The Beta asked confused.
“Leave us.” He says in a calm voice, one that seems too calm to be considered as calm.
“Yes, leave us.” I smirk at the Beta. Folding my hand, I give him a look akin to that of Victory.
I might not like the idea of being in the same room with an Alpha I barely know anything about, but it's worth seeing the disappointed and angry expressions on the Beta's face.
He glared darkly at me, his eyes taking a very deep yellow colour. Giving me a look that would have killed me, if only eyes can kill.
“You know someone like him can't be trusted. What if he harms you?” The Beta growled the last part.
His words causing me to roll my eyes.
I know am currently planning on how to take back my title, but in no way am I going to make an impromptu move.
Before I do anything, I have to make sure my plans already have a backup plan.
For now, the Alpha is safe. But it won't be for long.
Just like a cobra, I am patiently waiting for the right time to strike.
“You don't need to worry about that. I can keep myself safe.”
“But my Alpha….” He starts to say, but the Alpha cut his words short.
“Are you trying to question my authority?” The Alpha darkly glared at his Beta.
“No my Alpha.” He lowered his head in shame, “am sorry, my Alpha.”
“I'll call for you when I need your presence, but for now, I need to have a moment alone with him.”
“Okay my Alpha.” He nods, his voice a little small, just like a child who was asked not to go out to play.
“When I said I want a moment alone, I mean it. I want to avoid having you littering anywhere close to this place.” The Alpha said in a warning tone.
“I won't.” Giving me a very dark scorching now familiar look, the Beta walked out, but not before nudging me to the side.
“You really need to step up on your pranks. That's too childish.” I nudged him back.
The Beta didn't reply, instead he walked out, banging the door shut behind him.
His childish way of throwing tantrums made me smirk.
The Beta have seen nothing at all. Wait until I show him what this Alpha is capable of doing.
Who knows, he might end up willingly running from this pack with his tail tucked between his legs.
“Why did you waste time before answering my call?”
I almost jumped out of my skin when I heard the voice. Not only did he make use of a gruff voice, but he happened to be near me.
“What?” I turn, my heart beating as fast as it does whenever I have a run around the pack.
“Why were you late in answering my calls?” He asked again.
“Must there be a reason for every action taken?” I frown at him as I willed my heart to return to normal.
“Every action a person takes always has a reason.”
“Should I have one, I don't think you have the right to be privy to that. My reasons are my secrets alone.”
“As your Alpha, I have every right to know of whatever you do.” He frowned.
“You're not my Alpha!” I growl at him. “I might have given my pack over to you, but that doesn't mean I acknowledge you as an Alpha. You're nothing….” An oops sound escaped from my mouth the moment the Alpha took hold of my two hands, holding tightly to them.
“I'm your Alpha Dess. The faster you acknowledge it, the better for you.” He whispered into my ears.
