21 Tendrils of darkness slammed through the church wall, raining wood and rocks down on the companions. Adam swung one wing upward and covered the girls while Ruthven leapt backward out of the way of the falling debris. The church wall creaked and groaned, and began a noticeable lean toward them. Adam picked up Sarah and the flickering Jenny, and flew out of the way as the wall came crashing down. A cloud of dust burst forth and covered them, obscuring their vision for a moment.
