Chapter 23“Arlo? Arlo! Come on, wake up.” Arlo tried to shut the voice out. Pain too sharp to be real throbbed in his head. “Damn, your skin is like ice. Wake up!” Someone was shaking him. Arlo was so cold it hurt, but the ground was warm against his cheek. “Arlo!” It was Ellis, had to be. Arlo tried to open his eyes, his eyelids too heavy to lift, but he managed a sound. “Arlo.” The word turned into a sob, and this time Arlo forced his eyes open. Darkness. Everything was dark and cold and wet. “Ellis?” Hands ran over his arms. “Yes, I’m here.
