"Shot?" I repeated, my eyes widening in disbelief. "What on earth do you mean by 'shot'?" My voice cracked as I struggled to comprehend the gravity of the situation.
"The bullet just grazed you. It nicked the side of your chest, but it didn't go very deep. It's only a flesh wound, so it should heal quickly.”
“Oh my f*****g God.” A breath I hadn't been aware I was holding gushes out of me. “Hold on. So, I should be back on my feet pretty soon, right?”
“That's right.” he nodded slightly.
"Great, I’ll be able to take on my role again soon," I thought to myself. After all, I was the lead actor and Tessa was just my understudy ever since Linda left. "But for now, it seems like Tessa will have to step into the spotlight. I hope she does a fantastic job.”
