Dark Nephilim Named Riftan (Part 3)

1352 Words
“What… is that?~” I ask Riftan with bulging eyes, I never saw anything like what I just saw with Riftan for the entire existence of my life. “I don’t even have a proper answer for you~” What we are both seeing right now definitely will be the story for the masses, it is definitely not an item, but it’s actually a place, some kind of structure, a palace but all of the surrounding area made from iron, a thick iron, the gate obviously has some magic embedded into it. We saw an elven, I had never seen him before, just like Riftan, he wears one of the weirdest robes that I have ever seen. A long white robe with two visible pockets, and a tiny item on his chest pocket, what is that? a weapon? The elven walking inside the gate easily, the gate just opens itself and when the elven is gone by, the gate magically closes itself again. “Oh wow, what is this place?~” “I don’t know, and I’m afraid that we are dealing with something bigger than I have imagined before~” I glare at Riftan, giving him a slight remark. “You think?~ Come on, Riftan, this is definitely not our place to investigate with, let me contact my step-father about this~” “No~” He stared back at me, his deep blue eyes piercing through me. “I… I am sorry, wolf~ we have to investigate on our own, I have my reason for this~” “Ugh… You are seriously annoying, you know that~” He smiles bitterly, trying to say something but doesn’t know why he just stops, and then I saw it, his eyes wary and slightly nervous, he definitely sees something behind me. “Riftan?~” “Sabine, please do not make any noise, okay?~” “Why?~” “The golden basilisk, it is behind you~” The hair in the back of my neck is standing, I can feel it now, a hissing sound, a dark aura and not to mention the stench, the monster is here. “What should we do?~” I ask Riftan, who doesn’t even look at me anymore, his eyes are busy trying to look away out from this mess. At this rate, the basilisk will definitely get into us and if we dare to fight it, the other monster which another kind of danger altogether will be awakened. I saw the magic gate and took a gamble. I grab Riftan’s arm and run as fast as I can towards the magic gate, hoping the gate still have the magic and will be open immediately, and it is open, we get inside just in time the golden basilisk fangs gnawing deep into the tall gate that is close once more. We both fell to our knees, trying to catch a breath. “That was a rash decision, wolf.” Riftan glancing at me. “At least give me some appreciation.” “Well, I am not finished.” He unexpectedly laughs and pats my shoulder. “A rash but the pretty efficient decision, I owe you once again, Wolf.” “Ugh… Just let us continue then, at least we know that the magical door only opens for elven.” “Wait, you never know that the basilisk couldn’t get through the gate?” “Yes, I figure we just have to do something before the basilisk gets us after all.” Riftan's mouth gaping widely. “So, you take us inside without even sure about anything?” I shrug it and try to smile shyly like the she-wolf that I am. “Yes, well, still safe your life.” “Ugh… I take back what I was saying earlier.” Riftan walked away from me, still shaking his head in disbelief. I follow him from behind, I don’t even care what he’s thinking, my instinct made us safe, well, for now, I don’t even know what is inside of this place, this long tunnel-like with a weird luminescent light. The tunnel consists of thick smooth iron and an obsidian glass window surrounding it, we can see through the thick of the jungle while conveniently walking, what is this place? It feels… foreign, out of this world. “I have never a place like this, don’t you feel like it is not supposed to be here?” Riftan asks me while we are carefully walking together. “Yes, definitely, I feel it too, glad I am not the only one.” While I am answering his question, I try to make sense of this place, and for me, there’s nothing that makes sense about this place, though it’s so clean and bright, it’s also quiet and eerily too hygienic. “I don’t like this Riftan, let us investigate and then go back, okay?” He saw me and then nodded, I feel that he finally see our situation is direr than before. We keep continue, silently and carefully, when we finally see another gate, similar to the one that we have been using outside, but this time, there are three straight red lines, blinking in front of the magical gate. “What is that?” Riftan looks at me with a curious face. “Please tell me that you’re not seriously asking me right now.” He smile and make an apologetic smile, we just have to cross the three red line to have access into the magical gate, but either one of us want it to risk it until I check the pocket of my tunic, I have one edible mushroom, I’ve kept it for an emergency ration, this will be useful for now. I throw the mushroom into the red line, at first, nothing happens, the mushroom is still intact and just dropping unharmed at the floor after the impact with the red lines. We look at each other, sighing relief, the red line may be just another magic that will make us elven unharmed. We straight walking to the red line, and then an irritated mysterious sound coming from nowhere, all of our surroundings is now pitch-black, and then a red light occasionally appears, giving us a creepy red light as our main source of lighting, we are now hearing another sounding beside the noisy mysterious sound that isn’t stop at all, a sound of an elven woman, came out from nowhere. “Warning! Intruder Alert!” “Warning, Intruder Alert!” “Warning, Intruder Alert!” “Lady, we come in peace!” Riftan trying to be reasonable with the elven lady, that we don’t even know speaking towards us, where is she anyway? “Riftan, I don’t think she can hear us?!” I poke Riftan in his shoulder, trying to explain this bizarre situation. “But, why? Who is this woman? And why she call us Intruder Alert?” “I don’t know?! Look I think it will be best for us to go out from this place, now!” After the words, the magical gate suddenly opened, we thought that we finally see the elven lady who still speaking the same words, over and over, but no, this is worse, behind the magical gate is three of the monster that I have been facing on with my step-brothers, their enormous beak, and bloodshot eyes transfix into Riftan and me, we can hear the woman now changing her tune. “Releasing Qadars!! All personnel please evacuate!” “Releasing Qadars!! All personnel please evacuate!” “Releasing Qadars!! All personnel please evacuate!” There’s nothing else we can do now, I look into Riftan’s eyes, he is nervous but a glimpse of excitement came through his deep blue eyes, he spread his dark wings and smile nervously towards me, and I must admit, I feel the same way. I put off my tunic and transform into my she-wolf, and then howling into the three monsters that are now coming into our way, we are going to fight our way! Ready or not…
